Weapons of war in civilian hands

Define that please. What makes something a "weapon of war"? What makes a gun a "military grade" weapon?
If by "weapons of war" they mean actually used in war, that includes:
Revolvers
Shotguns
Bolt-Action Rifles
Leaver-Action Rifles
Muskets
Swords
Knives
Clubs/Bats
Axes

What weapon has NOT been used in war?

AR15s.

:auiqs.jpg:

Well, that's not quite true. An AR-15 is simply a modified M16/M4 that is limited to semiautomatic fire.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it's the other way around. The AR-15 was around first. The military modified them for their use.

Bull shit. The M4 has a different barrel that can take much more heat. So talk about something you know.

They will "define" it, don't you worry. And they will make it illegal for civilians to own. So if you can't quite figure it out, don't fret.
And they will cause a damn civil war too. But, hey. This union has go on long enough. It's time to break up into smaller states so, for example, Texans don't have to put up with the bullshit that Californians bring to the table.
:dunno:

lol... An M4 can easily be converted to full auto with a little work on the sear etc. But you notice something? Not a single law abiding citizen has done so then followed up with a mass murder.. hhmm

Yes, you got it right the second time around.

The M4 is designed with a better barrel and bolt to allow for automatic fire. An AR15 will literally melt down if too many rounds are fired in a short period of time.

Seeing as weapon is defined exclusively by the lower, perhaps you should talk about something you know.

An M16 or M4 can have a variety of barrels. The M4 is simply a compact variant of the M16 with a collapsible stock.

I did.

I believe our fore fathers used the word arms because they meant weapons of war.

Understanding the Different Types of AR 15 Rifles - M16 vs. M4 vs. AR15 - A1, A2, A3, or A4

The AR15 platform has undergone many changes over the years, and it can be pretty confusing to the average gun-owner. The goal of this article is to help you keep it all straight.

AR15 vs. M4 vs. M16 - What's the Difference?
To understand the different types of AR15's, you first need to start with a little history.

The AR-15 was a direct evolution of the AR-10, which was developed by Eugene Stoner in the 50's. The first ones were no more than simple scaled down versions of the AR-10.

In the late 1960's, the US military began use of an AR-15 variant known as the M16 rifle. This rifle became standard equipment for the US Army beginning in the Vietnam War. The rifle has gone through several generations of improvements since the original model - we will explore these later in this article.

In the 1980's, Colt began work on a new platform based on the M16 rifle, which was eventually known as the M4 Carbine. The M4, which features a shorter barrel, collapsible stock, and other modifications, has become standard equipment for close-quarters combat through the US Military.

They, who? If these claims are going to be thrown around the public discussion, then anyone using them must define them. Otherwise using them at all is gibberish.
Well, I believe it would be LEGISLATORS who will specify it, if they haven't already. Then they will fail to vote on it because they're too scared.
