Can you admit that unemployment typically trails a recession? That recessions cause unemployment problems not the other way around?

Inflation probably would have happened anyway.

Something systemic like that isn't achieved in a short time.

In fact it was building for a couple years during the pandemic panic and our fragile supply chain woes are in large part responsible
There's always a little inflation....but not almost 10%. The last time it was that high was under Jimmy Carter. A bag of coffee cost $9 in January....it now costs $19.

The reason we have so much inflation is because they spent so much in a short period of time....and because they've been stifling production of everything. They stopped using common-sense which caused an interruption of the supply chain. They intentionally cut of your ability to produce in America....and made us reliant on China and Russia who are our enemies.

It doesn’t make sense. The economy is adding tons of jobs.
The economy isn't adding jobs.
The Blue states created openings by enforcing lock downs and vaccine mandates.
Once you're chronically unemployed (16-19 weeks) you aren't counted on the unemployment totals.
The lock downs lasted longer than that.
The lock downs caused the loss of 10 million jobs.....and we've only recovered 6 million of them.
That's a 40% net loss of jobs since 2019.

How is asking a question "spin"?

If you cannot answer the question just say so and move on.
other the. losing a job??? how about all the things that come with employment…income, the ability to support yourself? what follows is poverty…hunger…more welfare, more dependence…geez you dembots are out of touch with reality

We added 372,000 jobs last month.

Yeah, that is the case. But the last couple we had we were not experiencing labor shortages when they started. All I am saying is that fact might help this one to not be as bad as far as UE goes

It’s pretty weird to be 6 months into a recession and having added 3 million jobs.

When was the last time you can say we 6 months into a recession and no seeing job losses?

GDP growth is a lagging indicator since it’s only released quarterly.

You make a good point.

The Great Recession started officially in Dec of 07. We saw job losses in July and Aug of 07 as well as a steady start to them in Feb of 08 for going on for the next 20 plus months.

I think there is too much labor shortages now to see that kind of job loss in this recession.

The 2000 recession job losses stated showing up 5 months before the recession officially started.

The recession of 1990 job losses started the same month as the recession and there was a clear decline in the months leading up to it.
