When (mostly) lefties try to use the American Revolution to justify an argument about modern domestic terrorism and anarchy and the decadence that goes along with it you know they are willing agents for foreign propaganda and/or victims of a sub-standard education system.
The Lefts knowledge of history fits into a thimble. OP likely believes the revolution took place in 1862 in Normandy.

Thomas Jefferson on the Shays Rebellion:

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccesful rebellions indeed generally establish the incroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. It is a medecine necessary for the sound health of government."
-- letter to James Madison; January 30, 1787

Good to see you have no problem doing what Washington did to rebellious mobs.

Shoot them.

Of course you’ve never heard of the Whiskey Rebellion. Your ignorance of history is what makes you a Leftard.

3 or 4 casualties. That's only a couple more than Lavoy Finicum.

You almost gotta cringe that a former KKK member, appointed to the Supreme Court by FDR, created the modern version of "separation of church and state" based on an obscure Jefferson letter rather than the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. Wouldn't you know they found another letter they apparently claim is justification for modern terrorism, anarchy and the like.

The poeple who founded this country and wrote its constitution, were overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the Temporal and Ecclesiastical realms seperate. And not just famous ones:

"the opponents of the amendment having turned the feeling as well as judgment of the House agst. it, by successfully contending that the better proof of reverence for that holy name wd. be not to profane it by making it a topic of legisl. discussion & particularly by making his religion the means of abridging the natural and equal rights of all men, in defiance of his own declaration that his Kingdom was not of this World. This view of the subject was much enforced by the circumstance that it was espoused by some members who were particularly distinguished by their reputed piety and Christian zeal."
-- James Madison; from 'Detached Memoranda'

I guess Antifa has some catching up to do!

antifa is an anti-free-speech, totalitarian, communist movement. The American revolution was about gaining independence from a foreign despot. They were the ones that gave us, for instance, the first amendment, a concept that you and your antifa comrades clearly and violently oppose.

Pointless distinction. Especially since our elections are rigged by the Russians, anymore.[/QUOTE]

If they're "rigged", they're rigged by the leftist fascists that you adore.

When (mostly) lefties try to use the American Revolution to justify an argument about modern domestic terrorism and anarchy...

The American revolutionaries were right-wing capitalists that believed in freedom, freedom of the market, freedom of speech, freedom to own guns, freedom of a non-oppressive government and the freedom to keep more of one's own money, all the things that the modern left opposes. Modern leftists would have been the "loyalists" (loyal to the British king) had they been alive during the Revolutionary War.

A foreign despot. That's Putin all right.

The enemy of my enemy, and all that.

Like antifa, you apparently disapprove of the U.S. While I do have disagreements with how we are governed, I do believe it is fundamentally a good but flawed system. I take it you feel that our nation is seriously flawed. What do you want to change?

It is the worthless fascists that want to fundamentally change this country. Wake up!

The Sons of Liberty:
  • Disguised themselves

  • Caused millions of dollars worth of damage to public, corporate, and private property.

  • Harassed supporters of the mad king until they fled fled the land

  • Engaged in acts of cruel violence upon those they viewed as enemies.

Sons of Liberty American History 1765

They were. Sure. I think they should not have done that. And It think Antifa should not do that.

One difference though..... Sons of Liberty, were actually going against oppression.

Antifa..... is.... oppression. They are not fighting injustice... they are injustice. Still I disagree with both of their actions.

But stop playing this game like these yuppy spoiled brats, trying to harm and hurt people because they have a different opinion on CO2 emissions or something.... has any comparison to the Sons of Liberty who were fighting against a tyrant that denied all representation in government.

These Antifa people have representation. They are not oppressed. They are just evil people.

Fascism is a left-wing ideology, similar to socialism and communism. In any event, I take it you don't want to pursue this conversation.
