West's Communist Party claim about Democrats

Forgive me here, but Lt. Col West while perhaps gung ho as can be seen with the results of his Article 128 and Article 134 hearing which was later reduced to an Article 15 which resulted in his retirement, the question asked of him provoked an opinion from West. While I could care less who is a communist and who isn't because the last I checked in the Constitution there was nothing in there that specifically mentioned Americans were or were not allowed to be part of a particular political party and Lt. Col West of all people who spent his life defending it more so than others should know that and I suspect he does. I frankly see this as Lt. Col West responding to a question from someone based on his personal opinion from a lifetime spent in the Military and nothing more. Like all Americans it his his hard won right to express it as it is the right of those who disagree to express theirs.

Does the GOP really want to raise this embarrassing part of their history in the 50s? :cuckoo:

Allen West’s campaign releases its own video of his Communist Party claim about Democrats | Post on Politics

Communism is only directly responsible for the death and murder of 250,000,000 individuals.

Communists are authoritarian lunatics.

Anyone who aligns themselves with such a cruel - and failure of a philosophy - is a threat to a free society..

Communism doesn't work...

Trying the model over and over again is nothing more than the definition of insanity....

I love how progressives totally ignore the horrors communism has brought to mankind...

One would have to be ignorant to history to ignore the 250,000,000 dead as the result of communism. That or they would have to be psychopaths..

"Communism" is not responsible for the death of even the real number of people killed by so-called Communist regimes, let alone ridiculously inflated figures like 250 million. Those regimes and the men who led them were responsible. A belief-system, not being a person, can't be.

In fact, treating Communism as if it were a person or an organization is the root cause, I think, of our Cold War lunacy. If we had understood Communism to be a philosophy of politics and economics rather than some personified entity, we would have understood that there was no chance whatever that a Communist regime could rise to power in this country. For that to happen, it must have popular appeal, and for THAT to happen, the people must see themselves as peasants or the equivalent oppressed by cruel landlords and aristocrats. (Well, come to think of it, we may not be so far from that today, but certainly we were far from it in the 1950s.)

Liberalism is the best defense against Communism. But liberalism, not Communism, was the anti-Communists' real target.

Maxine Waters and the Socialist Agenda:

I have been a Republican since 1968. I am mainstream, as are most Republicans. You are the true fake, bripat, and mainstream is admirable. Your miserable isolation to the far right is not admirable. You have been correctly rebuked, and will continue to be so when you attempt to speak for the GOP.

so you want the Republican party to be like the Democrat party, is that what you're saying?
why don't you just become a Democrat? You seem to side with their thinking already.
He isn't a Republican... A Repubican...maybe.

So do you, you must be a commie also.

I have studied communist propaganda under the rubric of "know your enemy."

Your enemy is an idea. What happens when a government fights an idea?

Who's asking government to fight an idea? However, the voters should know who espouses those ideas so they can vote them out of office.

People who were members of the Communist Party in the 1950 were agents of the Soviet Union who took orders directly from Stalin. As such, they were enemies of the United States and should rightly have been barred from employment in sensative government positions. Anyone who disputes that position is simply a Communist himself, a fellow travelor or an imbecile.

Here's a thought, for those of you who wish to see Communist under every rock and in every person be they Republican or Democrat or American or for that matter whatever the political stripe, perhaps the best place to start is at home. Let me explain, if communism is so anti american then perhaps dump the PC you are using and the cell phone, stop shopping at Wal-Mart, heck for that matter just stop shopping because just about everything we as Americans take for granted now is made by those so called Communists we are all so quick to point a finger at. While I for one am 100% in favor of all that being made by Americans , be they communists or not, the fact remains they are not, and the best thing to do here is not to label people by what political party they may or may not belong to, rather on the love of the nation in which we all belong too, as I am sure while some disagree on things politically at least we can agree on that.

People who were members of the Communist Party in the 1950s mostly never received any orders from Stalin, and were NOT agents of the Soviet Union. Nor were most people who, throughout the history of that country, WERE agents of the Soviet Union, also Communists.

This has already been pointed out to you more than once, yet you continue to repeat the above falsehoods without once presenting any evidence to support them. What's more, you seem, once again, unable to distinguish -- or unwilling to distinguish -- between Communists and liberals.

Americans seem to be a fearful people. Mention communism and it frightens some. If Americans had known the history of communism we might have known that no nation has ever practiced Marxian communism, nor that the chance of communism working was probably nil. Wonder why America did not try to educate its citizens instead of continuing to use that fear on us?
Fear is the greatest of the political motivators probably more powerful than greed, or hate the next two on the list, and political parties use all three with great effectivness.

No, socialism is to blame...

The whole idea of communism is meant to SUSTAIN "X" amount of people.....

What happens when you have a bad crop season?? people starve to death and many are purged from their native lands for their resources.

What happens when dissidents oppose the communist regime? they're promptly slaughtered or imprisoned...

Communism doesn't work for those two main reasons...

A) it is impossible to sustain a populace when your goal is NOT to create wealth but to sustain.

B) it is impossible for communism to be successful without total obedience from the populace..

That's why communism is prone to famine, culls and purges...

Go see EVERY communist regime ever since Marx inspired his first moonbat to prove my point(s)...

Ever hear of the Five-Year-Plan dummy??

Mao - 40,000,000 dead (China)
Lenin/Stalin - 60,000,000 dead (Russia/USSR)
Hitler - 6,000,000 dead (Germany)
Kim Il-Sung/Kim Jong-Il/Kim Jong-Un - 5,000,000 (North Korea)
Pol Pot - 2-3,000,000 dead (Cambodia)
Ho Chi Minh - 2,000,000 dead (Vietnam)
Castro - 1,500,000 dead (Cuba)

Of course I can go on and on with other socialist/communist dictators that killed 1.5 million or less in smaller communist nations over the years.. Che Guevara (Argentina) would be a fantastic example and he was nothing more than a rogue communist gorilla..

This hearing was sparked by the surge in gas prices during the Bush administration to $4.00/gal. Now the same level of prices brings yawns from Congressional Democrats.

Isn't it amazing how a simple change in the Administration can cast a whole new light on the same exact economic trends?

Duplicity reigns supreme..as complacency takes hold with fierce intent by the Statists.

The people who did it are to blame. Neither Communism, nor socialism, nor any other idea can excuse them.

And your figures are still preposterous. The real ones are bad enough. When you inflate them like that, you only make yourself look like a moron.

As the Maxine Water's video clearly demonstrated, there is little difference between the beliefs of "liberals" and the beliefs of communists. The fact has been demonstrated repeatedly in this forum. Communism has gone mainstream. They no longer hide under beds. They infest the halls of Congress, only they call themselves "progressives" or other such innocuous sounding euphemisms now.

These people do not love America. They hate America and everything it stands for. They have been doing everything they can to destroy it since 1917.

Oh right, so there's nothing intrinsically evil about Nazism. A few bad Germans were to blame for All those bad things that happened in the early 1940s.

Is that really what you're saying?

No one is questioning whether communism is evil. No one is aligning themselves with communism here. Those who accuse Dem congressmen of so aligning are themselves acting like commies. Trying to tie the Dem Party to communism is a failure strategy for the GOP.

Your willingness to do so ranks you with the arch anti-communist and liar Joe McCarthy, who was torn down by his own party.
