Zone1 What Does The Word Racist Even Mean?

I thought I knew, but honestly I don't even know anymore.
Who knows among the 'woke' generation that pretty much label everything you ever did in your life or how you order breakfast as 'racist.'

Of course we can all agree that discrimination that denies liberty, choice, options, opportunity to somebody due to skin color is racism. We can agree that people who inherently accuse or devalue or disparage or harm people for no other reason than their skin color is racist.

I think for most MAGAs of all races, racism is also seen as the motivation for affirmative action, granting people of color special consideration in funding, labeling some crimes as 'hate crimes', defunding police or otherwise separating out people of color from the general population as somehow more needy, less capable, more disadvantaged, more worthy of government largesse and protection. The result/consequences of course is almost always more negative than positive.

IMO it means anyone making a person's skin color paramount over their character.

That's what the old definition was anyways. Today if I want to have Burger King instead of McDonald's I feel like somebody would just scream at me for being a racist as that's how strange our world has gotten.

So true, Blaster.

In 21th century multiculturalist western societies, racism and racist mean just about everything... from people who advocate the physical extermination of entire racial groups to those who support even the most basic immigration control.

And like all words that are forced to mean everything racism ends up meaning nothing.

You got something against clowns? Clownist!

Racist: Someone who does believe that all black people should be treated differently and superior to white people.

That's the best I can come up with.

Great question!!!!

I think that there are at least two definitions.

First, a person who notices another person's ethnicity. Some liberals say that they are color blind. They are, uh, fibbing. If they see some "kids" from ethnicity X in their neighborhood, they will be more concerned than if those kids were from, say, ethnicity Y.

Second, a person who really, really, really dislikes someone simply because of that person's skin color or shape of eyes.

IMHO, in 2022 America, there are very few "racists" of the second kind. But almost everyone is consciously or unconsciously "racist" of the first kind.

"Racist" means a liberal doesn't like you. Its used when the words "Deplorable" "fascist" and "semi fascist" have all lost their bite.

It really doesn't mean anything any more. Both ends of the political spectrum have so spectacularly over-used the word simply to put their opponents on the defensive that they've diluted it into mush.

So it goes into the same pile as socialist, communist, Nazi, radical, extreme, Marxist and several others.

We're not a serious country at this point. Our words don't stand for anything real.

The most obvious answer and it also never mentions racism against black people.

It means nothing, it's just a lame social construct coined in 1902 that referred to the plight of Native Americans.

The blacks and the white guilt crowd appropriated it (oh look more stealing/cultural appropriation from NAs) in a effort to divide the country and to make money.
