What dramatic sea level rise could do

Geologists examining shale deposits have determined the likely kill mechanism in several mass extinction events: a loss of oxygen and simultaneous build up of hydrogen sulfide. A rapid rise in sea level from Greenland and/or Antarctic ice sheet destabilization could produce similar conditions.

Odd that you would say so when you obviously haven't read the article.

The study found that a rapid pulse of sea level rise had taken place and that this produced a lack of oxygen and a rise in hydrogen sulfide that could have been the kill mechanism. The extinction acted almost specifically on bottom feeders. Pelagic marines species and land plants were almost completely unaffected.

The rapid rise in sea level could have been caused by a meteor strike, glaciation, a change in ocean chemistry. See (as if there was any chance you will read ANYthing): Evolution: Change: Deep Time.

It's laughable to think the climate can be affected by anything except manmade, American, CO2. All the recent studies have shown American CO2 is the one and only thing that controls the climate.

Read IPCC 6

Global sea level rise since 1898 has been 210mm or about 8.25 inches. That is very slightly more than one-fourth the width of one of the statue's eyes which are not visible in either photograph. And then, of course, there are the tides which range 5 feet at this location. Finding that I also came across this:
Tide measurements near the Statue of Liberty from 1855 to today show a 2.9mm rise in sea level every year. Tiny compared to the 5-foot range bet low & high tide, so you'd need photos (at the same point in the tidal cycle) to see a difference.

So, that's complete bullshit in every way it could be.

China builds a new coal plant every day -- crickets. Americans will face the death penalty for owning a gas stove

I will make but one statement to this nonsense, if the oceans are warming then evaporation levels would be rising and they aren't. The 8.5 inches in your thread is laughable at best. AT BEST!!! Plymouth rock is still visible as shown in another thread, Guam as far as I know is still upright, and hawaii's business is as healthy as ever. So, unless you have some location on this planet that is experiencing high sea level, post it. And please don't bother with your normal high tide shit.

You made six or seven.
if the oceans are warming then evaporation levels would be rising and they aren't.
Weather patterns are changing due to warmer ocean temperatures because the ocean is key to the movement of water around the globe. Due to its enormous size, the ocean helps power weather by driving the planet’s evaporation and precipitation cycles.
Higher sea surface temperatures increase evaporation and add additional moisture to the atmosphere over the oceans. This extra water vapor boosts the precipitation dumped by rainstorms and blizzards on coastal areas and inland locations.

The 8.5 inches in your thread is laughable at best.
Why do you think that laughable? It was 8.25 inches and has been over a period of almost 134 years. Do you think all the people who made the below graphs (CU Sea Level Lab, Climate.gov (NOAA), EPA.gov and NASA are all lying or all really stupid?

And as has been shown repeatedly, that rock was moved to that location in 1921 and you have no idea what time in its tide cycle that picture was taken. Claiming that you would be able to discern an 8 inch change over 134 years at a location that has a 5 foot tide range is blatant idiocy.
Guam as far as I know is still upright
And Poster jc456 doesn't get jokes no matter how infantile they may be.
and hawaii's business is as healthy as ever
Oahu has 4,000 feet of elevation. Hawaii has 13,796 feet. Were we supposed to be worred what that 8.25 inches over 134 years was going to do to them? The locations that are actually concerned about sea level rise include Dade County, Florida, China, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, the Netherlands, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific islands such as Tonga and Fiji
So, unless you have some location on this planet that is experiencing high sea level, post it. And please don't bother with your normal high tide shit.

I just did. And your ignorance on this topic is stunning. The ocean is gradually rising. At what points in time will that first make itself felt? Anyone? Anyone? Yes, you over there, the single digit IQ blob of flesh strapped to the portable toilet drooling, can you tell us (ie, poster jc456) when rising sea levels will first make themselves felt?

Uhhh.... uhh... aauuttt.... high tide?

YES!!! That is CORRECT.

All this ocean rise in the FUDGE CHARTS, all this claim of "melting,"

and they cannot show us

ONE SINGLE LANDMARK "sinking"

Statue of Liberty = nope
Venice - nope
Hawaii 5-0 beach = nope

HMMMMMMMM

Who do you think is lying, our OWN EYES, or the conflicted taxpayer funded FUDGEBAKING LIARS???

Show us YOUR sea level data.

Show us YOUR sea level data.

The DATA outs the FUDGE....

The good news is that Antarctica is not currently contributing to sea level rise, but is taking 0.23 millimeters per year away,” Zwally said. “But this is also bad news. If the 0.27 millimeters per year of sea level rise attributed to Antarctica in the IPCC report is not really coming from Antarctica, there must be some other contribution to sea level rise that is not accounted for.”

IPCC busted for claiming Antarctica is causing ocean rise when the OPPOSITE is actually true and has been for the duration of Algore's FRAUD...

If 90% of Earth ice on Antarctica is INCREASING, how is there a net ongoing ice melt????

LOL...

Instead, we get claims that Venice will be underwater soon, but then there is the

DATA RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES which is 180 degrees the other way...

And this moron is trying to use 134 years of records to tell us what has happened to this planet/universe over the past 4 BILLION years. SMFH.

They are sneaky little fucks...

Crick tried to claim "since 1950" on cane data.... nevermind the 1940s are THE STRONGEST DECADE ON RECORD

They will whine about sea ice melted by undersea magma releases, and then shut up when the ice grows back....

Their "evidence" of "ocean rise" is islands in the South Pacific approaching PACIFIC RING OF FIRE....

Anthropogenic global warming has been taking place since the Industrial Revolution, not for 4 billion years. We can certainly talk about the distant past, but I don't think you'll like the facts any better than you do the last 134 years.

again, the number of hurricanes is down, so factually speaking, you haven't proven warmer water since evaporation isn't increasing. Sorry dude.

millimeters.

Your posting millimeters. like 0.06 millimeter per year over 134 years. No way to measure that.

seriously acting like millimeters is per foot or yard with your nonsense, millimeters. hahahahahahahah

And one would have a hard time measuring millimeters due to fluxuations of the waters. So unless you have some locale that has had a rise in something significant, you're just posting word salads for enjoyment.
