Republican activists and insipid posters on this message board, both known as "birthers" will be happy to see that one of the front runners for the GOP was born in Canada to a Cuban father and an American mother.

Senator Cruz releases birth certificate amid talk of presidential run

I will expect "birthers" will find Cruz to be ineligible to serve as POTUS.

Barack Hussein Soetoro was born in Kenya to a Kenyan father, according to the legend.

If so, then a LOT of shit had to be true for his mom's US citizenship to make him an American.

But Cubans owe no allegiance to Canada.

Americans born to Americans are American. Or sumpin like that.

Anyway, who gives a shit? Barry was born in Hawaii.

And Cruz' mommy was a Yankee. So, he is too.

"According to the Legend"?

How do you know Cubans owe no allegiance to Canada. Surely Sen. Cruz's father might have since he was given - we must assume - a visa to work there.

"Who gives a shit?", well Donald Trump for one and as I recall a number of those who ran for the GOP nomination in '08 and '12 seemed to cosy up to the 'birther' base. I don't recall anyone of them stating Obama was a natural born citizen.

At this point, with the kenyan born to a British father, it matters not where you were born or the nationality of your parents. Precedent has been set. It is TOO LATE to worry about where ANYONE was born as far as president. The doors were all opened when obama was elected.

Cruz is a subject of HM Queen Elizabeth II, having been born in Canada. His shiftless parents didn't bother to bring Cruz to the US till four years after his birth. They clearly planned on staying in Canada at his birth , then changed their minds after four years. That's NOT a naturally born citizen at all.

Yawn.
Pres. Ted Cruz will kick Democrat ass back to Detroit where it belongs.

He will go down like Akin & Mourdock. Too conservative. Easily demonized. Hillary will crush him.

Face it, not enough voters think a return to the Bush policies is what this country needs.

Obama was born in the US, and Cruz was not. Cruz is therefore not eligible for the Presidency. His election "victory" would be more fraudulent then Dubya's first term.

No, obama was born in Kenya, and his father was British which gave him dual citizenship at birth, so he too was/is/always will be ineligible to be president also.

So precedent has been set. obama opened the door for all future ineligible candidates.

The look on Cruz's face when a reporter asked him about this -- he actually started to claim that because his mother was born here, he was okay.

What a fucking joke!!

I can't wait until he shows up in New Hampshire and Iowa and people are looking at him and smirking....

Well if anyone knows how that feels, you do.

Idiot.

You show two publications that acknowledged their mistakes. How embarrassing for you. Birthers like you a the laughingstock of politics. Obama was born in the US, and Cruz was not. Cruz ain't gonna be President, because it would violate the Constitution.

He will be inundated with lawsuits against him because of his non-American birth, and Birther supporters of Cruz will only have themselves to blame for it when Cruz is denied office.

Sorry, they're not mistakes, everyone knows it. obama being born in Kenya is common knowledge at this point, also that his father was British, to which there is no argument. Those still denying such facts are the morons that should be embarrassed, such as yourself.

Cruz is every bit as constitutionally eligible to be president as obama is, and Cruz very likely will be the next president.

Sucks for you guys. You elected the Kenyan with the British father and opened that door, now deal with it.

Sucks for Cruz. All these crazie right wingers gave us the idea to oppose a nominee based on where the nominee was born.

A baby born in Canada to a shiftless, rootless Cuban father is a naturalized American? Laughable.

Nah, if it ever was proven that Obama with out a shadow of doubt was not a born critter of the USA everything he done in the past 5 hence 8 years would be null and void. Every bill he passed every EO would be wiped out. But I think he was born on US Soil. so the argument is mute.

Reminds me of a joke I once heard.
