What is a feminist?

That statement is more true in the reverse. Feminists despise conservative women and berate any woman who chooses a traditional role. Ask any stay-at-home mom.

What a moronic statement. Do you usually take millions of people, and group them all into one statement and view? I doubt it. There are some feminists who are out there and I'm sure who despise women who choose a role not like theirs. However, to say they are the majority is not only dangerously ignorant but bordering on dishonest.

Feminists fight for equal rights for women, last I checked. They fight for women to have choice, which yes, includes Abortion. Conservatives, especially the moral ones, tend to want to limit people's choices, so why should anyone be surprised?

Please cite any statement from a leading feminist that is supportive of any woman identified as a conservative. Do that and we can believe you. Otherwise you're just talking out of your ass.

Like I said, feminists are not going to support political views that go against their whole philosophy. Conservative women tend to have such views, especially since Conservative women are against Abortion as a whole politically.

You're a babe in the woods on this topic if you believe that a feminist would defend a conservative female. In fact they're usually first in line to trash them. Your last sentence seems to suggest they deserve to be trashed. Yet I'm a moron for noticing?

Deserve to be trashed? Not quite. You're the babe in the woods if you expect feminists to be in support of women who go against their entire philosophy.

Their entire philosophy is ironically anti-feminine. They are dishonest when they say they want to promote women's rights. They want to eliminate thru social engenieering any sex differences.

But then feminism as a movement is all but dead.

And that philosophy is?

Freedom of choice. Conservatives in general from what I've seen want to eliminate Abortion, Gay Marriage, and Pornography. Along with several other things both relating to women and not relating to women. This includes limiting sale if not getting rid of completely the morning after pill. That is elimination of choice from the citizen's hands and policing by the government in order to control the populace. Why would feminists ever support such things?

No, it's just evolved.

Yeah. Evolved into a quaint little university studies program. Harmless enough, but going the way of the dinosaur.

OK, so you admit you were merely talking out your ass when you disputed what LuckyDan had to say.
Glad we got that cleared up.

 The two people on this board who have questioned by parenting skills have been con women.
One should never stereotype.

I still dispute what Dan has to say. It's ignorant bordering on dishonest and we both know it.

Then again, we both know you're a bigot and a sexist.

He's just being honest. The Republican Party has made little to no effort at all to trying bring more black Americans in their party and try to explain to them why they their policies would be better than the Democrats. They just write them off.

Because it's hard to explain to the "gimme" crowd that by working harder they will get to keep more of what they earn, since they have no earnings.
The GOP would do much better reaching out to Hispanics, as Bush did in both elections, who actually are interested in working hard and getting ahead. Hispanics will outnumber blacks in a few years anyway.

I want to know Rabbi's reasons for calling Clinton and Kennedy rapists?

Because prima facie evidence exists that both are rapists. In Kennedy's case he killed an innocent woman as well. Neither of them had a good personal history with women. They just happened to support the political aims that the feminists also wanted.
That is why feminists have no moral authority.

So feminists are pro-porn? Wow. They have evolved. Tho I've never met one I'd care to see naked.

From the NOW website:

"How many of you here today know a woman who you think would make a good elected official?" queried Massachusetts State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz. Hands shot up all over the room. We were in Boston at the National NOW Conference's Political Roundtable, where women politicians and women who worked in politics were discussing how to advance women's rights through electoral politics.

I had raised my hand, almost without thinking. "Who do I know who would be a good elected official?" I wondered. Various people came to mind -- my outspoken friend from college, my dynamic younger sister, my favorite high school teacher, my fellow NOW interns. I wondered if these women would ever run for office, or if, as many women do, they would decide not to run, either because the obstacles were too big or the reward seemingly too small.

The problem is not that women do not win when they run for office. Statistically, women win elections for public office at the same rate men do. However, far fewer qualified women choose to run for office. Even when women do decide to run, there's still the chance that their party (and this applies to both major parties) will not work to support them, deeming a less qualified man "more electable." 1992 was hailed as "the year of the woman," but nearly 20 years later we have yet to achieve gender parity in Congress.

This seems to paint a grim picture for the future of women in electoral politics. But I do not think that is necessarily the case. At the political roundtable, the audience got to hear about all the ways that individuals in Massachusetts and across the country are trying to get girls involved in the political process. One of the most important parts of this effort involves convincing girls that they are capable of being leaders. If girls become involved in leadership positions from an early age, this creates a pipeline that takes them straight from the playground to the public sphere.

I challenge the readers of this blog to think of women they know who would make good elected officials, whether it be your mother, your sister, a co-worker, or maybe even yourself. Ask them why they have never run for office and encourage them to take that plunge. Based on the number of hands that went up when State Senator Chang-Diaz asked her question, we all know someone who could make an impact on politics if only they tried to enter the arena.

women in politics, women leaders, feminist leaders

Ironic ain't it?
