That's because they aren't full auto. AR's are semi auto.
Totally incorrect. The original ArmaLite AR-15 was selective-fire (semi/burst/full auto). The M16 was semi/full auto, and the the current variants such as the AR15A4 are semi-auto only, but ALL variants have their roots in the AR15 family.

And you think that the AR-15 that is sold to civilians is the ArmaLite AR-15 that was sold to the military as the M-16??? When you actually know so little, why do you feel that you should post on this subject? ArmaLite was going broke, so sold the rights to the rifle to Colt. Colt continued to use the AR-15 trademark for its line of semi-automatic-only rifles marketed to civilian and law-enforcement customers, known as Colt AR-15. The select fire Colt ArmaLite AR-15 was discontinued with the military's adoption of the M16 rifle.

Armalite designed the AR10/AR15, but their bid for government contract was rejected in favor of the M14 in 1959. They sold the rights to their AR10 and AR15 designs to Colt in that same year, and never produced these weapons for the military.

Colt went on to produce many versions of these designs, including over 5 million M16's. Though other companies were licensed to meet production demands, Colt still made the vast majority of AR15/M16 variants. The patents expired in 1977, and until that time Colt maintained primary production and oversight of ALL.

Stop pretending you know something, your gaslighting is useless against actual facts.

One only fires one shot when the trigger is pulled. The other can fire multiple shots when the trigger is pulled. I KNOW you've read that before, which shows that you are not a serious poster, but just here to waste time.

Is one of these an "assault rifle"? If so, which one?

img_5067.jpg

91046.png

Cannot tell without seeing the bolt-carrier group.

Most likely neither are.

One is a Ruger Mini-something, the other could be any kind of AR, or possibly a government issue M4 "assault rifle" with select fire, too hard to tell what the AR-style rifle is.

You should share your proof with the news media and law enforcement.

"Law enforcement officials said Tuesday at least a dozen of the 23 firearms recovered in Las Vegas were semiautomatic rifles legally modified to fire like automatic weapons, using an alteration known as a bump fire stock."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...t-makes-machine-guns-different/?noredirect=on

Now, back to ignore and the shame of being stupid with you.

In actual combat use, there is NO difference. In fact, there are some semi only M-16 in the US Army today. You will often times find them in a gate guards hands or something like that. And they are stamped M-16 as well. Since the common use of a M-16A4 or a M-4 is almost always on semi auto due to ammo waste, there is NO difference in their operation, handling and training. The 3 shot burst is pretty worthless really. Your first shot is on target but your next two are normally off target. You just wasted 66% of your ammo. Of course the old A-1 would waste a lot more being full auto using spray and pray.

Now, do your own research. The best research you can do is for you to go enlist, get trained and get into combat with the M-16 and then we can talk intelligently.

One can shoot full-auto and has the components to withstand the stresses of doing so in a long fire fight with an enemy force (costing a minimum of $3,500).

The other LOOKS scary.

The 3-round burst is way more effective that you suggest. In fact, full-auto is most effective in bursts of 3-5 rounds.

You are simply wrong. The ONLY differences between Colt AR15/M16/M4 are minor features (barrel length, stock configuration, sights) and the fact that civilian versions do not have burst fire/full auto.

They are all mil-spec, there is no difference in metallurgy or quality.

But feel free to keep embarrassing yourself, it's quite hilarious.

These silly trolls don't know that the Military doesn't utilize fully automatic M-16s now because they are inaccurate and ammo wasters. M-16s and M-4s today are either utilized as single fire or 3 round burst weapons. Automatic fire is provided by the Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW).
