What is President Trump's intentions with respect to North Korea? With all his high volume tough talk I fear that his plan is to defeat the bully Kim Jong Un, the North Korea President, through the use of America's military power in the hope that in so doing he will build up popularity amongst the American people as a great President and his reputation as an embarrassment as a President will permanently fall away! President Trump and/or members of his Administration keep saying one way or another with or without China's help North Korea is going to get in line and stop their nuclear and long-range missile program the clock is ticking on North Korea the Trump administration is going to solve this problem that's a certainty.
The Trump administration is not acting responsible here. Kim Jong Un is a crazy person so he is capable of doing crazy things if the Trump administration thinks it is going to teach him a lesson by doing a massive bombing of his military assets he very well may turn around and decide to teach President Trump a lesson by sending a wave or two of missiles and rockets into South Korea's population centers and kill thousands of South Koreans. Remember crazy people don't think responsibly about negative repercussions on them over their actions it will not deter Kim Jong Un that thousands of his own people will be killed in retaliatory strikes remember the Kim family through the years has allowed thousands and thousands of their people starve to death. The Trump administration if they were acting responsibly would try not to bring this nuclear and missile conflict with Kim Jong Un to a head or to a final showdown stick with the diplomacy and economic sanctions route keeping a lid on things is good enough here. If the Trump administration thinks that somehow they can finagle things so that Kim Jong Un falls and the South Koreans takes control of North Korea they are making a grave miscalculation about the President of China, Xi JinPing. This guy Xi has a real bad side to him he will do whatever he can possibly do no matter how immoral for China to hold power in countries throughout the world so that these countries will continue to buy goods and services from Chinese businesses no way on God's green earth is China going to allow the South Korean Army along with a U.S. Army to march through North Korea to its border the Trump administration will trigger a war with China if it directly and/or indirectly causes a military invasion of North Korea.
If President Trump wants to build a reputation amongst the people as a great President so he can have a great record of accomplishment stick with the merits of the issues and just do the right thing based on the merits. He seems to hold promise on things like a modest change to NAFTA America has around a sixty billion dollar a year trade deficit with Mexico America's Executives have been moving their plants over the southern border like they're just changing advertisement plans this shafting of the American worker has to stop, a modest change to this treaty is certainly fair. The recent attack with fifty plus cruise missiles in Syria was another good policy based on the merits of the issue, leaders throughout the world throughout history have to know that they are not to cross the line and use chemical weapons in a war, it will not be tolerated to much human death will result if it is otherwise! On this reputation point, President Trump can take ten steps forward by making the permanent decision to permanently turn over his tweet account to his staff and let them and only them initiate any tweets he can retain veto power over publication of any tweets. President Trump needs to accept the reality of life that sometimes you screw-up and you cannot take it back you can't fix it which means in his case he'll never be a President Lincoln or a President Reagan but the door is not yet shut on being a great President!
