The “side deal” was not “made with Iran,” but made by Thai authorities with Hamas, though it was certainly brokered through Iran, in the same way as the more difficult deal between Israel and Hamas was brokered through Qatar. The Hamas leadership may never have intended its thugs to kidnap the Thai & Filipino kibbutz guest workers — which was just bad “public relations” for them in Asia.

This OP is typical nonsense. First of all who is “we”? This deal was approved by Israel, though the U.S. Biden Administration and other concerned parties certainly used U.S. connections with Qatar to facilitate it.

What is the “SO MUCH” being given up? The Palestinian prisoners being released from Israeli prisons are mostly just teenagers accused of crimes like throwing rocks and also a few women — not “WAR CRIMINALS.” They have all already served time for their alleged or real crimes. They are being released to return to their homes mostly in the West Bank, and will have a record, having been fingerprinted, etc. Hamas wanted all the 6,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails released including top terrorists and political leaders. They got nothing of the sort. So far this trade seems to be an intelligent move that will hopefully lead to more releases of Israeli hostages.

Talk of Biden being a “weak president” is here just a way to support the macho posturing Donald Trump. In terms of supporting Israel against Hamas’ suicidal terrorism, or Ukraine against Putin’s bloody invasion, Biden has been a tough-as-nails president, while Trump has been little more than a fanboy of Putin.
