While I would like to agree, history has demonstrated again and again the willingness of totalitarian governments to mass murder millions of their own people; people they supposedly "needed" to do such menial tasks as grown food and produce steel. Lenin and Stalin were happy to murder whole sectors of their citizenry and imprison hundreds of thousands of others in gulags. Hitler killed millions of professional Jews—engineers, teachers, and many others, who were essential workers. Pol Pot slaughtered close to half the total number of his citizens. Mao massacred millions and millions of his own people who could have served as a massive labor force. No, I don't agree. If it comes right down to it totalitarian American leaders can easily "afford" to kill about 100 million of us and still have enough backs to force into hard labor to take care of menial national production. Plus they can always bring in millions of immigrants from a variety of Third World shitholes to replace patriotic Americans.

Pointing out historical precedent for democide of the working and middle class is not the same thing as abandoning all hope. I was merely demonstrating the repeated tendency of totalitarian governments to mass murder their own people without giving much thought to the long term consequences. The democrats have succeeded in creating a new wave Woke Religion full of zealots possessed of enough fervor to persecute any and all fellow Americans who do not demonstrate sufficient faith in their woke-ness. I am certain resistance groups will rise and organize and fight back; they always do. But I am not naïve enough personally to think we conservatives are safe from mass murder by our new government because our new government "needs" us in order to keep America going.

Power corrupts, as a result about 90% of the supposed leadership of the right is actually serving the left.

I'm sort of at a loss for what the OP proposes as a solution, and frankly even what the "problem" is. Yes, compared to 1787 and even Jacksonian democracy, we are an oligarchy. It is no longer possible to simply pack a wagon, move west, steal land from Indians (intended) and seek to live. But even then, a failure of credit like we saw in 2016 meant starvation on a national scale. However, I accept for discussion that none of us can work for our daily bread and shelter but for the oligarchy that controls global corporatism. Even in Russia, the State exists to me simply the face, or middle man, for corporate globalism.
