There are some people on this forum who need to watch this and need to understand such things. While these people are saying the protests are an insult to the military, this particular member of the military is saying the opposite. This member of the military is saying that racism has no place in society and that people need to listen and be aware of the protests and why they're happening.

The (ch)Air Force has been integrated for a long time.

Yes, racism is bad.

Yes, leftists are evil, they strive to remove one's individuality and freedom.

If you're an American, you would be against this.

What the Marines think about it.

Hardly the Marines, this is Hollywood.

Depicts it correctly. The military is not a democracy.............Doesn't tolerate BS in this category.

No, it's not a democracy. But at the same time everyone should be going into the military as equals, and treat each other with respect as a soldier. This is what the military teachers, and for good reason. You can't have discipline in the military when one group of soldiers thinks it can pound on others. When you're under fire the guy next to you, regardless of race, gender, political leanings, is a guy who might save your life or you might save his life.

They all have weapons. With racial tension, with such problems in the military, with such indiscipline in the military, you've got issues.

It's not an issue..................Military slams everyone that gets out of line equally.....................

Them saying so is just repeating how it is and has been for a long time.

Sure, and racism is getting out of line.

Bullshit argument. What he said has nothing to do with anthem protests.

No one has an issue with people protesting any cause they want. Kneeling during the anthem is a direct insult to the country, all Americans, and military. Do you think military members get to kneel during the anthem? Military must stand for the anthem, because to do anything else is disrespectful and un-American.

Racism is whatever an accuser wants it to mean. A woman who lives through a brutal beating to identify her black attacker is racist. A man protecting coworkers and customers from an armed black attacker is a racist. George Zimmernan had the effrontery not to allow himself to be beaten to death is a racist. Darren Wilson who refused to give up his weapon to a drugged out, charging hulk is a racist. An officer whose life is threatened by a heroin dealer trying to run him over is a racist.

I could go on and on. Meanwhile the hurt feelings caused by nasty notes, graffiti, scrawls on cars and walls turn out to be the acts of the black accuser looking for attention.

I join a growing number of individuals who no longer care, partly because we just don't believe the crap they put out. Everything is racist so nothing is racist and then can blow their isms up their nose and out their ass.

The Superintendent of the Air Force Academy said yesterday to the joint cadet and facility staff, get out if you cannot abide by the new rules; paraphrase.

Wow! Do you NOT have a fucking clue!!

Yup, and the NBA commissioner said it's always been a rule that they stand for the anthem. Will the OP support the same sentiment of "get out if you cannot abide by the rules"?

That is not an Indian pony you have for an avatar. Your horse looks to have Arabian blood and English blood. Beautiful horse that has coat like a Holstein cow. Perhaps an Andalusia horse with Spanish blood? Just asking and no slur intended.

Really? I suppose when he said:

"We would all be tone deaf not to think about the backdrop of what is going on in our country, thinks like Charlotteville and Ferguson, the protests in the NFL" this meant he thought this had nothing to do with the protests in the NFL, huh?

Kneeling during the anthem might make you think these people are insulting the country, all Americans and the military, but perhaps other people feel the US military, the country, the government and some Americans are insulting them. And they'd be right.

You say it's "un-American", I say that's a bullshit argument. The flag, the anthem, they represent something, whether good or bad. It represents a government that the Founding Fathers wanted people to be able to protest against. Symbolism is just that, symbolism. It symbolizes the good AND the bad.

Those people who demand that people respect their symbols, should make sure the things those symbols represent, are respecting those people who are protesting. But that is clearly not the case. One of the reasons the NFL players are protesting more and more is because the President is causing conflict and division among the people. They're protesting HIM and the things he stands for. Until he starts acting with respect, why should others respect the symbolism of the government?

Close - she's a cross between an Arabian and a mixed breed I used to own ... the mixed had Andalusian in it (we think), but I'm not sure what else ... no papers on him (one of those midnight visits, I reckon). Not only pretty, but maybe the smartest horse I ever owned.

Here's the deal. At work there are rules. A company can fire you for breaking those rules. Why? Because they're not the government and they don't have to abide by the First Amendment. The thing is for the NBA, the NFL etc, they need to keep their players relatively happy. Sure, these players really don't have anywhere else to go. Soccer is a sport which is relatively capitalistic. But in the US sports are kind of Communistic. But if there were enough players being fired, then the NBA would suffer as a result.

That's the game that could be played.

Nonsense, of course .... the purpose of the flag is to symbolize the country we want to have, the one we strive for everyday. Demeaning it demeans the effort, the commitment, and the sacrifices to move toward those goals. So, you see, we want the same thing .... you claim it represents what was (or, maybe even is), whereas most of us see it as a symbol of what we can be, and a symbol of how far we've came.

Clearly, given the reaction to the players' actions, the majority would seem to agree with me.

I am not an anthropologist, but there is not much chance a non-White, non-male got to the Air Force Academy on objective merit.

He is allowed to peacefully take a knee if he wants, they all can. That is standing up for the service members who gave their life's for social injustice, so we are told , but actually it was to protect the oil.

Next thing you will be forced to pray before a game. The NA is not a good song.
