On April 28,2016 while watching ABC news I like millions were shocked at the Delta airliner that had to abort the takeoff in Atlanta to avoid collision.

Out of breath David Muir reported this piece of news and the reporter at the site clearly stated "and this happens at least once a month at American airports."
ONCE A MONTH!!! my goodness we need more rules...more regulations... this is happening way too often!

But after thinking about what was said I did a little research...
According to the National Air Traffic Controllers Association there are over 87,000 flights that crisscross the United States everyday!

So 87,000 per day times 30 days... 2,610,000 flights per month.
Hmmmm.. so at least once a month this exception occurs or 0.0000192%...
1/10000th of chance it occurs out of 5,220,000 takeoffs and landings per month.
All this angst! This FEAR! Instilled by a media that NEEDS the EXCEPTIONAL to be portrayed as happening ALL THE TIME to get attention.
Another example: NBC news headline...
An Alabama police officer was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the shooting death of an unarmed black man in Montgomery last week, authorities said.
And so the vast majority of viewers say "when will this carnage stop against the poor
black man?".... "Black Lives Matter"... certainly has a right to jump on cop cars, destroy
property after all the pigs are killing black men ALL the time all over America! Every day!
Now of course most of you "intelligent" forum readers understand the concept that the
EXCEPTION not the rule has occurred.
But not the uninformed the emotional idiots that say
"this happens all the time every where!" It has to stop!
Now for the facts...
FACT: Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks commit around half of homicides in the United States. DOJ statistics show that between 1980 and 2008, blacks committed 52% of homicides, compared to 45% of homicides committed by whites.
FACT: From 2011 to 2013, 38.5 per cent of people arrested for murder, manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault were black. This figure is three times higher than the 13% black population figure. When you account for the fact that black males aged 15-34, who account for around 3% of the population, are responsible for the vast majority of these crimes, the figures are even more staggering.
– FACT: Despite the fact that black people commit an equal or greater number of violent crimes than whites, whites are almost TWICE as likely to be killed by police officers.
According to data from the Centers for Disease Control, between 1999 and 2011,
2,151 whites died as a result of being shot by police compared
to 1,130 blacks.
– FACT: Despite being outnumbered by whites five to one,
blacks commit eight times more crimes against whites than vice-versa,
according to FBI statistics from 2007.
A black male is 40 times as likely to assault a white person as the reverse.
These figures also show that interracial rape is almost exclusively black on white.
