Whenever Republicans in office criticize Obama, how often do you think it is.....

....reasonable criticism? How often is the criticism unreasonable and politically motivated? In other words, how fair are these Republicans to Obama's words and policies?

25% of the time? Half the time? All the time?

Does it matter? What I mean is, those doing the criticizing believe it is reasonable and those who support the President do not.

Why not ask the inverse? When Democrats who hold office praise the President, how often do you think the praise is earned? How often is the praise simply to toe the party line? How fair is this praise to Obama's words and policies?

Rarely will we be seeing any sort of bipartisan agreement, now or in the future. The last time was September 12, 2001...

It really isn't that simple. Politicians will always unfairly criticize the president. As in, they know their criticisms are bullshit, but they say them anyway for the sake of political gain.

Sure, ask the same about inverse. The same logic applies to democrats. Make your own thread if you want.

For as long as we have had government one party has criticized the other.
It was called politics. It was accepted as part of the deal.

Now when the right criticizes Obama it's racist.
Wonder why that is.

The issue isn’t criticism per se, but its fundamental idiocy, often parroting rightist blogs, AM radio, and Fox.

If conservatives and republicans want to be taken seriously about their criticism, then make it substantive, relevant, and offer your own solutions to problems, don’t just criticize.

does it snow in August ?

Can a criticism be both reasonable and politically motivated? There's no question that politics is at the basis of everything done in the so-called political arena, but that doesn't mean it's not also a reasonable criticism.

They decided they would be against Obama at all costs long before his 2008 election.

Couldn't it just as easily be said, however, that Democrats have decided to be against Congressional Republicans, even if their complaints have been legitimate?

Maybe in the house. But they're not in power there. In the Senate I don't think so.

Well I'm thinking more broadly, like even Democrats, or liberals in general I guess, on this board. They seem as unwilling to give credit to Congressional Republicans as Republicans, or conservatives in general, are to give any to Obama.

Well I'll be the first to admit that both parties partake in partisan nonsense. But Republicans are notorious for going out of their way to invent reasons to demonize Democrats. Lewinsky, Benghazi, the birthers...

I would guess it's about the same amount that Democrats criticize Republican Presidents this stuff is almost always politically motivated and both sides do it on regular basis.

Of course the past 12 years of Bush bashing was all based in rational arguements and an ethical approach to criticizm, not just vitriol and opposition to policies that moonbats have yet to actually reverse.

Hmm Iraq and Haliburton vs. Lewinsky and Benghazi...

I think to say one group is worse than the other is in and of itself to engage in partisanship. There's no way to quantify which group is more partisan, and there are plenty of examples of Democrats inventing nonsense to demonize Republicans.

Oh please, should we still be wasting the resources we wasted keeping Hussien isolated and weak? You must've forgotten a lot of democrook senators voted in favor of OIF as well. I loved the services KBR/Halliburton provided. Worth every penny IMO.

Compare that to perjury (liberals have no need for truth anyway), and dereliction of duty any day. You can justify your side's nefarious actions just as easy as I can defend the policies Bush promoted.

A better question would have been --- How fair is the news media towards Democratic Presidents? Are they equally fair towards Republican Presidents? Is the news media very bias? Somewhat bias? Never bias?
