Since 1985 America has maybe increased its r&d funding about 25 billion. How can this be the cause of our debt problems???

It isn't going to infrastructure

That one year in 2009 is what you conservatives point at for your whining about infrastructure. Since then we're back down to levels not seen in the past 30 years. Something tells me that this isn't the cause of our debt!

None of these areas have increased since Clinton...So we damn well know that they're not causing our debt problems.

The American people are getting fucked and we're getting next to shit for it. Where is all this money going too?? 1. Wars of nation building(the wars in the middle east have cost this nation 3-5 trillion bucks)...2. Wall street cash infusions(I've heard tens of billions every month), 3. The Bush tax cut. Yes, Tax cuts cost a shit ton and they're piling up our debt. Probably close to half of the deficit is being caused by this cluster fuck.

4. Yes, welfare has become costly...I'll admit it. We're doing very little to invest in areas that can strengthen our economy., while throwing money down the toilet.

Time to stop blaming the 4 areas above and start thinking critically.

We spend as much on our military yearly as we do for science, r&d, and infrastructure on our own country. Pretty fucked up???

We spent as much on the middle eastern wars the past decade as the past 30 years worth of those.

4-5 thousand that could of been paving our roads, innovating and educating the next generation. What a waste.

Some truly screwed up people are in this nation that think this is good for our society.

So the answer is higher taxes?

That's insane

Amazing that 60% of our entire budget goes to ssi, medicare and unemployment. Another 16% goes to the military....

76%....

The answer is 1. to get out of the wars, 2. to tax the top 5%...A lot of them are paying next to nothing and 3. we must reform unemployment and welfare.

How can we get out of wars as Obama sends fighting men to Syria?

How is it that taxing the top 5% achieves anything other than more wars?

How should we rerform welfare?

It's going to socialist entitlement programs, always a waste.

It's guns or butter. Guess this country opts for guns.

Normally guns have proven to be the wrong policy to make.(AKA France 1780's) We must focus at home as that is where are economy is...Our children are the future, etc.

If you're talking about food stamps, insane levels of unemployment insurance and nation building in the middle east. Well, I agree with you on this.

Some of this certainly should be moved over to more useful infrastructure, science, r&d and education.

Matthew I know I am awesome and I am a killer on environmental issues in my own right.

I can kill anyone here over Grassy Narrows.

Years and years on Grassy Narrows.

Why don't any of you look it up and get back to me.
