Well they haven't repealed Obamacare, they haven't built a wall or tightened border security even if they pretend they have, their spending proposals would increase the deficit not cut it, and many of their measures increase government not reduce it.

It seems that all they were interested I was opposing what Obama was trying to do, not actually having a program to accomplish their stated goals.

The tea party was primarily made up of middle age to older white folks, demanding that spending be cut. They found out in Kansas and Louisiana that it almost bankrupted the states. Also, with Trump obligingly proposing spending cuts on Medicare, and Social security, while throwing money at the military, I think that there have been a few defections in the tea party.
