Where The Money Scott Walker Is Cutting From Universities Is Going

OMG OMG OMG
It's the attack of the know-nothings! Run for your lives!

Being fiscally responsible, means having to cut the budget, if you don't have enough money for everything you want.

The public wants a stadium. Therefore, they are getting a stadium. It's a bad move. But it's also what the public wants.

The left screams about how politicians should do what the public wants, and then when they do, they get screamed at for not doing what is best for the public.

Make up your mind lefties.

I don't believe there was a vote on the subject. How do you know they want it?

There have been numerous polls in Wisconsin showing a large body of support. It varies from poll to poll, but they all show general support.

Therein lies the problem. If the polls showed mass dis-interest, we wouldn't be talking about this at all.

Walker is a politician. That's what he is. He wouldn't be doing this if he didn't believe there were political points to be scored.

All politicians do what is in the public best interest, when they can do while scoring political points. But if there are no political points to be scored, they do whatever the public wants, even if it's not in the publics best interest. This is a perfect example.

This is what happens in a democracy, and that's why we were never supposed to be a democracy.

Hope you like the outcome.

Link one of these polls they seem to be elusive. This should really be voted on.

They seem to be elusive? Are you a joke? All I did was punch into google "Wisconsin stadium poll" and I got a half dozen different polls.

Beside, I'm not even in support. I wish the public was completely against stadiums. Stadiums are a massive waste of money. They produce nothing, consume tons, and are of no real benefit to the public.

Then a link will be easy to find.

Well, if you want to call being brainwashed by socialist "teachers" (who have no idea what it's like to live in the real world) education, then yes, it's the right thing to do.

Shall we take this as an admission that you lack an education?

I have no issue with cutting g the education spending. My problem is that the savings should be returned to the taxpayers not given to a private business.

Houston voted not to build light rail, the city did it anyway, the county voted no money to redo the Astrodome, the county is pushing ahead anyway, voting doesn't always work.

Republicans... willing to throw their own kids under the bus WRT cutting higher education, but have no problem giving millions to Billionaire sports team owners to build them new stadiums. These owners all seem to play this game - buy me a new stadium or I'll pack up and move to another city where it's easier to rape the citizenry for more. Then the citizens buckle under to this extortion and build these stadiums. Taxes and fees of all sorts are raised, and in the end, ordinary people are priced out of even going to the stadiums their taxes paid for in order to see their local team's games.

Thank you. It's interesting the other mentioned poll has more people against it. But it is really something that should be voted on.

You are lucky. I don't suffer unbelievably laze people as much as others. If it was something difficult to find, I'd have given a link without question. But given the most simple of searches yield dozens of results... why is it you people on the left think that all of us on the right are uninformed, and yet you can't even do the most simple task to educate yourselves?

If you can't bother to do the slightest research on the most basic of subjects, why should any of us bother talking to you? Obviously, by your own admission, you refuse to learn anything. Spare use your ignorance, and waste someone else's time.

Again, the public wants a sports stadium. Walker is a politician like any other. He's giving the masses what they want.

I disagree with walker on this. I wouldn't want a stadium. They are a huge drain on the resources, and have no real benefit (other than sports fans, which admittedly I'm not).

However, I also think education funding is wasted too. The more you people on the left blow on education, the more stupid our students turn out.

So the person too lazy to post a link is calling me lazy. Amazing. If you make a claim post a link.

So far 2 polls one for and one against. Your claim doesn't have much support.

for the left: education is used for their Cash cow and for one of their lowdown dirty politic Fear mongering

it's as old as Hillary and Sanders

I don't care how you take it, you're an idiot. My point (and I'm not surprised you missed it) is that most people find that the "education" they received is inadequate and end up having to get a REAL education (the kind you pay for with your own money) before they can find work in their chosen field. But since your chosen field is probably collecting welfare, you wouldn't know about that.

Stadium projects have never performed as an economic engine anywhere. Mayors and governors have sold this same line over-and-over again and people just buy it. On the other hand, a well funded education system is a sure bet, you just don't see immediate political donations from team owners, the construction industry and real estate speculators.
Thats not true at all,We built a minor league team a stadium, and its has been a very good economic pulse for the area.

I will agree that many degrees are mostly worthless. A degree in 18th century French poetry isn't going to get you a job anywhere except to teach 18th century French poetry. Sadly, most decent paying jobs nowadays require a college degree of some sort. To make it harder for kids to get their degrees will only make it harder for them to obtain good jobs. Since republicans are also working hard to destroy unions, getting a decent paying job in factories will also become more difficult too.
