Where's the server? NRCC hack question

Hello guys. I just want to make sure that the NRCC, who was hacked in April according to today’s news, gave the actual server to the FBI ( and immediately so) instead of letting some cybersecurity company keep it and mess with it first.
If you do not yet know the answer, please let me know when/if you find out.
