Well in theory one could be a nationalist and support all groups within a nation aspiring to the same ideals. It wouldn't be any different from "patriot," but Trump and his bots seek to exclude people who support things even like belonging to the UN or Nato, because they refuse to accept a person can support that while still believing such agreements are 1) in our interests and 1) don't threaten our national sovereignty.
