Our policies in the USA should be "dictated" by those qualified people who give a shit.

People like John Walsh, who helps lock up fugitives, and knows what its like to lose your children to murderers.

The American Medical Association, and the American Red Cross who are expert authorities on medicine and healthcare.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who gives a shit about your safety on the road.

The FAA who gives a shit about your safety on a plane.

The United States Department of Agriculture, who gives a shit about your food being safe.

Mothers against drunk driving, who gives a shit about your safety on the road, and as a pedestrian using the roads on foot.

PETA, and the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the ASPCA and the Wildlife Conservation society, who gives a shit about animals.

Not farmers
Not breweries
Not Nambla
Not food processing companies
Not bottling companies
Not the restaurant and food service industry
Not saloons, pubs and bars

None of which give a fuck about you.

Thank you.

No one should dictate policy. Government should develop regulations that are fair to all...working with corporations and businesses.

the corporations and businesses can go fuck themselves.

Policies that are fair to all are exactly what corporations and businesses spend tens of billions of dollars to defeat.

Starbucks baristas seem to have a pretty good grasp of republican government, I think.

No "dictates" allowed, consensus after squabbling, bickering, insults and distrust has worked for 238 years.

Exactly. Why mess with tradition.

And if ever in doubt, remember Winston's wise words:
