Why are republicans automatically considered racist?

This is another political stereotype that has always intrigued me. Obviously it's not true. Anyone can produce a list of republicans that are/were not racist. Yet the stereotype persists. Why do you think that republicans are automatically considered racist?

Very simple, its an easy way to shut down debate of an issue.

Instead of having to adress and talk about something you can just say "thats racist" and then you dont have to and can maintain the status quo.

Dude, that's racist. :eusa_snooty:

And my response is.......not its not.

now we will discuss how it is or isn't racist instead of the subject at hand ;).

And thats how the game is played people.....please leave your rep for manifold and pilgrim on your way out

Interesting contrast between this thread and the 'why are democrats automatically considered pussies' thread. In that thread, people got a little more abstract in their reasoning whereas in here it's been consisent variations of: reps are considered racsit because they are! followed by nuh uh, the dems are the racists.

Good stuff in both threads.

Just different.

But whatcha gonna do? :dunno:

GOP Memo Admits Plan Could 'Keep Black Vote Down' - Los Angeles Times

The document, called Exhibit 13, was unsealed by U.S. District Judge Dickinson R. Debevoise when lawyers for the Democratic National Committee said it was needed to question Wolfe.

Wolfe testified that she wrote about the possibility of keeping the black vote down to remind Griffith that there "might be a political situation he might want to consider. . . . I wanted him to be aware of the political considerations."

The Democrats are suing the Republican Party for $10 million, charging that the Republican National Committee ballot security programs--a method of assuring that voters reside at their listed addresses--violated a 1981 consent agreement signed by both parties.

Why do you people keep pretending that there is not a perfectly documented reason blacks dont vote republican?

You're always invited PP head.

Go Bruins!

It is court documented.

The black community knows this history and you deny it even exsists.

That right there explains why black people dont vote republican in anything but tiny numbers.

Your denial of cold hard court documented FACTS to pretend it not a racisits party is yet another reason they dont vote republican.

Many of the people who do vote republican refuse facts just like you did here.

A party that refuses facts can never get their policy right.

They have left out part of the question so they never get the right answer.

“Barack the Magic Negro” is Prominent Republican’s Stocking Stuffer

Chip Saltsman (pictured), candidate to head the Republican National Committee, sends out a Christmas goodie bag to RNC members with a CD including the racially loaded parody of Obama’s liberal supporters.

Courtesy of Eric Kleefeld of Talking Points Memo, who aptly notes:

“If one of the Republican Party’s challenges is how to effectively oppose the first black president without coming off as racist, one of the candidates for RNC chair is hardly off to a good start — he is now distributing a CD that includes a racially-charged song called “Barack, The Magic Negro.”

The CD is by Paul Shanklin, who writes right-wing parody tunes and is often featured on Rush Limbaugh. Casey has, of course, already documented in detail Rush’s racist history.

Your fucked up assumption and twisting of STORIES does not equate to the party not wanting blacks to vote...

You are a habitual liar, bitch

You know that the LA Times were the ones who called Obama "the magic negro" and that the song you linked was making fun of the LA times for doing that, correct?

Some truth for you in case you were seeking it ;).

In an Aug. 13 memo the court made public Friday, Kris Wolfe, the Republican National Committee Midwest political director, wrote Lanny Griffith, the committee's Southern political director, and said of the Louisiana campaigning:

"I know this race is really important to you. I would guess that this program will eliminate at least 60-80,000 folks from the rolls. . . . If it's a close race . . . which I'm assuming it is, this could keep the black vote down considerably."

Unseals Document

She said in the memorandum that the program had been approved by Gregory Graves, deputy political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

The document, called Exhibit 13, was unsealed by U.S. District Judge Dickinson R. Debevoise when lawyers for the Democratic National Committee said it was needed to question Wolfe.

I believe the racist parody mentioned the LA times but that doesn't they were making fun of the LA times and that doesn't make the actions of Republicans any less racist.

Now tell me how a physical memo that was never contested by the defendent in this case and admitted to under oath is not a fact?

You see when it exsists physically and EVERYONE agrees ( even the writer) that a certain person wrote it that makes it a fact.

In the con world there are not facts.

That is what you people keep saying by denying this could hard court documented fact.

the right on here fro the most part have no way to determine facts.

It allows them to deside EVERYTHING with emotions and allows the 1% to drag them arround by the nose with lies.

Rush Limbaugh said:
Well, let me tell you about the roots of this. There was a columnist in the Los Angeles Times named David Ehrenstein, and on Monday, he wrote a piece about Barack is the "magic negro." He claimed that there is, in the black culture, this term "magic negro." His point in this column was that Barack Obama is not authentic. He hasn't been down for the struggle. Plus he's not been around long enough for people to know what he actually stands for substance-wise, and so white people who are supporting Barack are simply doing so to assuage their white guilt over the transgressions in the past in this country, such as slavery and so forth. So his theory is that Barack coming along, he's black and that's all that matters. Nobody cares what he stands for. Nobody knows what he stands for.

It was a column, essentially, accusing white people supporting Obama of being racist because they don't care what he stands for and don't care what he's going to do. The fact that he's black is enough for them, to make them not feel guilty as long as they say they support him, and that was the definition of "magic negro." Now, on this program, we made it a big point to point out that it was -- and this columnist is black, by the way, David Ehrenstein is black, and he used the term, which is why it says so in the lyric line of the song. So we're just highlighting what the left says. I believe they're the true racists. I believe they're the ones that look at people and notice whatever is different about them from white liberals. Either they're black or they're gay or they're Hispanic or whatever. They immediately group people, and most of them happen to be victims. Yet we conservatives are the ones, Uriah, who get tarred and feathered with these allegations.

there you go

It is a documented fact that the republicans have worked for decades to keep black voters from voting.

How is that not a racist thing to do?
