It IS embarrassing, macaulay. But Wikileaks is like the ACLU and if I had a choice, I'd opt out of 'sanctioning' him or the project. The only reason you think the Democratic Party is corrupt is because you haven't seen the Republican correspondence, and with the Russians supplying the hacks, it is possible you never will. But this Wikileaks keeps us on our toes. A little embarrassment is better than hiding scurrilous (but not corrupt) tactics. Just remember, you've only seen one side. Do not assume the right is divine purity on Earth.

Information is just information, the "crime" is that he releases information to the publics at large that the power structure wants silenced. So good for him, this is what "freedom" and "transparency" look like. Same with the Manning case. Yes, they could be droned, do not think that hasn't come up in some backroom meeting somewhere; that as the system continues to lose all semblance of legitimacy, drones might be leveraged to keep the rabble at bay if they resist.
