Why does Chris Matthews tape his shows instead of live?

Is Chris Matthews too lazy to do them live? All the MSNBC shows before and after him are live. He's getting goofier by the day, so maybe his shows require considerable editing. He's also a drooler. He's such a pompous ass.

Chrissy has been mailing it in for MSDNC ever since Barry left town. No Barry, no more thrills up the leg at the mere sound of His voice, so now it's just a 9 to 5 gig for him, tapes afternoons and still able to hop the 5:13 back to whatever lefty burbbia Is home.

I very much doubt the shows before/after droolmouth are live, unless they're a current news show or live election coverage, in which case they'll have a producer in their ear calling every play. Far as I remember they all have interviews peppered all over the show and preplanned. You can't do that live; it would never come together smoothly. That's why they tape, to allow room for editing.

Even NPR feeds get lightly edited when there's time. If you hear an early feed before somebody gets to clean it up you can hear re-takes that by the next broadcast have been edited out.

If those other TV shows were actually live you'd see mis-takes, you'd see actualities (interviews) not ready, you'd see script flubs.
