Why does the right wing have such a persecution complex?

We seem to be getting more posts than usual that start, "Why is it that...." followed by some standard lie about conservatives. There are several up on the first screen already, now plus this one.

I guess when liberals lose, they do that sort of thing a lot.

Why do liberals have such a lying complex?

Your turn to sit in the back of the bus!!!:clap2::clap2:

The reactionary fringe wing of the right feels persecuted.

Why?

They should be because of what they are: losers.

Why do conservatives have such a persecution complex? I was thinking about this. Conservatives in the Boston Bombing thread are losing their minds over the word domestic in the potential origin of the bomber(s). These are people who come up with such buzz words as "job creator" "gun grabbers" "baby killers" to highlight their political points and incite political debate yet an innocuous word like domestic they take as a direct attack on their race and ideology.

This is part of a bigger complex where these people continually feel like they're under attack and being persecuted. What is this about? There's been no surpression of right wing anything in this country and after five years of Obama the craziest of the crazies on the right still have as loud of a voice as they did back then. Seriously what is this fear and paranoia about?

I believe it relates to how Conservative brains process fear. There are several studies that point to that.

It’s very common among reactionaries, they fear a ‘changing’ America, becoming more diverse, more inclusive, and consequently conservatives fear a loss of status and privilege.

Needless to say, as conservatives perceive these ‘changes’ they contrive a paranoid fantasy of being at some sort of disadvantage, their ‘values’ threatened and disregarded, the institutions they revere ‘undermined’ and ‘under attack.’

Nothing could be further from the truth, of course, but paranoia and fear are rarely predicated on the truth, if ever.

This is also part of the partisan conservative agenda, to keep The Base motivated and heading to the polls, by playing on their ignorance, fear, and hate.

Fear and ignorance. The don't believe in education or science. That only feeds the paranoia leaving them even more fearful. They aren't qualified for jobs. Too lazy to pick fruit. They are hoping if they give money to corporations, the corporations will give them "jobs". Even their presidential candidate never talked about education until the last couple of debates. But had posted on his website that he would bring immigrants with degrees here and help them get jobs.

They think "hard work" will make them money. They talk about their wealth as if they had some. Without an education, they can work hard in the fields picking stuff. It's hard work, but it won't make them much money.

Severe mental illness, there in no other explanation for it with the right wingers.

Be nice folks. There are two (or more) ways to see the problems facing the nation. I share some beliefs that many would call right-wing (Voter ID cards for anyone wishing to cast a ballot, armed guards in school and a few others.

What stuns me about most conservatives though is that when there is a specific problem such as too many mass shootings in the country, there seems to be a resignation to "If it can't prevent every scenario by which someone will acquire a weapon, it shouldn't be implemented."

About 60% of all personal bankruptcies in this nation are caused by medical bills. You'd think that this would be cause for alarm. Obamacare addresses some of that. The Conservative plan would be to just ignore that it's a problem at all.

The GOP (on the whole) hates paying for AFDC. So contraception would seem to be a way to prevent AFDC from growing. The GOP response? Cut contraception funding everytime the subject comes up and if it isn't brought up, bring it up!

A great many hate any mention of cutting the defense budget or any talk of common sense measures to stem the flow of firearms. Why? So if the time comes, they can fight the government whose defense budget they didn't want to cut under any circumstances.
