Unfortunately this thread has been derailed a bit, or not, I am not sure if people are happy debating with 617.
So what do people think about the idea of Democrats deciding to use the border wall to extract something from Trump and Republicans that they would never usually agree to, like making gerrymandering illegal and creating a national holiday on election day, or something else that you think Democrats should go for? Is the Republicans desperation to get a wall a potential advantage to the Democrats?
I also think trying to make gerrymandering illegal and a public holiday for elections would be winners, because both ideas are essentially free, and if you ask most Americans I think most would agree both are good ideas. If the Republicans say no then they are the ones looking obstructionist.
