Why is Socialism so popular all of a sudden

Socialism is the collective
(government) control of the means of production and distribution

The Gub'Mit controls & distrubutes the military

Mostly to sh*thole countries that vote against us in the UN

welcome to dystopia , where your vote is a facade , cloaked in the guise of freedom

~S~
The military is not a system of production.
Neither are the police, fire department and health insurance industry, for that matter.
Lol
Military/police/fire are an necessary… And insurance is not healthcare. So shut the fuck up

Average Joes are tired of being stomped on by the American oligarchy.
No, the ones who are screeching for socialism have not a clue as to what socialism is. They just hear free free free......
What is actually happening is that they're looking at countries like Canada, Australia and Germany, and beginning to think there may be a better way.

I don't know why this so difficult to at least understand, let alone discuss intelligently.
.
b/c we have seen multiple countries go under in a big way to even want to discuss risking the entire world.

seriously, try to imagine what would happen to the world if we went down like Ven, Cuba or the 'former' USSR.
Venezuela is a case of crime, corruption along with damage inflicted from other countries.
Cuba is doing ok. with good scores on education and healthcare, otherwise nothing spectacular.
USSR is a victim of bad Gorbachev policies. nothing to do with Marxism or socialism, but just policies inappropriate for the situation.

Yet, one of the most important collapse is Greece. caused by exploitation by our banks. but you can fault them for allowing themselves to be exploited.

But none of this comes close to the failed states in Africa. not even close.
Lol
Cuba is a 100% failure so shut the fuck up you stupid ass motherfucker

What I described is what is actually happening. That is the goal. If the Right keeps fighting ghosts like this, it will lose.

Screaming SOCIALISM or VENEZUELA or CUBA is no longer good enough. There is enough momentum now that the Right will actually have to start using reason and intelligence if they want to avoid what's probably coming.

Or not, that's up to you. But the momentum is building.
.
Socialism always has to be forced on people that want nothing to do with it, will not benefit from it and cannot afford it. And you wonder why people want nothing to do with it
They're okay with it in Canada, Germany and Australia.

More and more people here are interested now, too.
.
Well, the ones that want it can keep that shit to themselves... Quit trying to press it on to everyone else that wants nothing to do with it.
European socialism is absolutely untolerable to millions of Americans... I can’t think of anything worse

Or they just want less, rather than more.
Sure, but that should be the conversation, not either/or, which makes no sense.
.

Yes, people take, or are pushed, to extreme positions. It's a common "feature" of political debates. That doesn't discount their reasons for opposing socialism. It doesn't nullify the argument. "We've already got some" doesn't establish that we should have more.

The economy of Venezuala went from the strongest in South America to the weakest in such a short time. No doubt corruption had a place in the decline Mr. Chavez promised a socialism light and pushed through an anti private property
constitution. His policies depleted the Venezualan reserves. Mr Maduro was elected president on the promise of a more
radical socialism and he institued wage and price controls among his policies. The result has been hyperinflation, the majority of Venezulans have had involuntary weight loss and nation on the verge of collapse. While I was thinking about this I realized these are people we are talking so dispassionately about, little children scavanging garbage, old people wondering where their next meal will come from, parents grieving their inability to provide for their children all on the promise something for nothing. Right "Promise them the moon but give them a shit sandwich".
I had planned to say something about poverty in Cuba and the 75 year failure of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
but dang I just want to think about something else for a while.
That is why socialism has a 100% failure rate long-term… Famous person once said doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity

Well, we'll see how it goes.

The Right want to take a more considered approach to the conversation, something better than screaming SOCIALISM VENEZUELA CUBA, when people are actually more interested in Canada, Germany and Australia. Fighting ghosts is kind of pointless.

That's up to you, of course.
.

Love it or hate it, is it not peculiar an idea that has been so taboo in our society is now mainstream, what happened? Why is socialism suddenly so popular?
Progressives are fucked in the head...
And they have no education then being snowflakes in their safe spaces.
You'll have to do better than scream SOCIALISM and insult people.

Let's see how that goes.
.

What I derive from reading you:

"You must explain socialism."
"Really, you must explain socialism."
"No, really, I mean it . . . you have to explain socialism."
"What is socialism again?"
"Can you repeat your definition of socialism?"
"Sorry, didn't get that. What is socialism?
"Darn it, I forgot what socialism is. Can you explain it?

All the while, the radical Left is implementing Cultural Marxism . . . as you and your like minded ilk apologize for radical Leftism. Spinning wheels in the mud while the zombies surround your vehicle, sledgehammers in hand. And still you think you have more time Left to apologize.
All I'm asking for is a conversation based on shared definitions.

Clearly I'm asking for a bit much.

Normally, a conversation that is based on shared definitions is required for progress.

Maybe that isn't the goal.
.
Millions of Americans want nothing to do with socialism, because they cannot survive it. Why force a world of piss and shit that is socialism on millions of Americans?

Sure. And that's a perfectly reasonable discussion to be had. Right now, though, at this moment, the Left is articulating the argument better, in my view. Not that I agree with everything they're saying, but all the Right is doing right now is shouting platitudes.

Socialism always runs out of other peoples money, because it always has to be forced on people. Anything that house to be forced on people that want nothing to do with it can never, never be a good thing

I’m not trying to convince anybody, I’m trying to tell you that millions of Americans want nothing to do with socialism... obviously socialism is a fraud because of its rejection by millions of Americans… end of story.

It’s funny, why must progressives force socialism on people that want nothing to do with it, cannot afford it and will not benefit from it?
