Democrats haven't been playing the race card, they are just not going out of there way to insult them. Here is a tip.
When a cop shoots a 12 yr old with a toy gun and you defend that, it is not democrats who are saying it is wrong because he was black. But the GOP will try and defend the cops actions.
Remember Eric Garner, GOP spent there whole time say it was justified, in spite of having a dead man and broken policies.

It is not a race card to say what happened to Eric Garner was wrong, it just plain decency.
