in late1965 I saw the following add in one of the car magazines of the time....
I also had a fellow locally with a 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 that he said was too fast, and unstable for him to drive. At the time I had a 1962 Corvette, and instead of trading the Corvette and much money for the Datyona, I opted to trade the Corvette for the 289 Cobra, and little money.... I had the Cobra for almost a year before being drafted, and had my parents sell it, as I had no place to store it.... The above Daytona Coupe is probably $10 million today, the 1965 Cobra, probably pushing $200K and the cost of a tour of duty......PRICELESS!
