$10.10. A killer for the rich.

What the hell is a "living wage"? Does it eat, breath and speak or something?

You want a picture drawn, in living color ? It's what it takes to pay for housing, food, clothing, a car, car & home insurance, utilities, furniture, and a few luxuries. Got it ?

And doesn't include drug habits, gambling, or any other such stupidities.

Do you know what it takes to EARN enough money to pay for housing, food, clothing, a car, car & home insurance, utilities, furniture, and a few luxuries?!?!?

.

To him that's the responsibility of the employer...but I suspect he/she/it is a moocher in real life. You know? A Liberal.

Whom sets the standard? The Free Market, or the Imperial Government?

Combination of both (but "imperial" is unrelated to the discussion - this is a domestic matter)
Looked at encroachment of your liberties lately as juxtaposed to what the Founders designed? *I* was correct.

Learn it, Know It, LIVE it, poseur.

WHOSE money it is - is debatable. If you worked 40 hours a week, in most places in America, you probably ought to be getting $20/hour. If you're only getting $8/hour, than WHOSE money is that other $12/hour ? (difference between the 8 and the 20)

That is debatable.
Not it isn't debatable. It belongs to the PEOPLE...period. Not into property rights of the individual, are you?

Cease with the grammar police shit son.

It belongs to the PEOPLE who work for it, at a FAIR rate. What that fair rate is, just happens to be debatable. And they're debating it in the halls of Congress right now, as we type.

Will you vote for a politician who states that it is NOT within Congress' Constitutional authority to dictate to a private business how much workers should be earning?!?!?

Do I know what it takes to earn ? I told you what I've done in my life, over 50 years in the workforce, so what do you think ? BTW, as combat construction specialist in the Army, I did the hardest work in America for 5 years. Sunrise to sunset. Cold or heat. In full fatigues (sometimes tactical in full combat gear). Rain or shine. Don't believe it's the hardest ? Go watch the Army Corps of Engineers putting up an M4T6 bridge sometime. Some people get worn out just watching.

Actually , the parasite is protecting his welfare political demagogue's "right" to dictate to a PRIVATE employer how much their employees should be making.

.

As a conservative, I'd like to support you but wtf are you saying?

Raising the minimum wage won't affect the rich at all. It will kill off the small business owner and put more money in the control of the huge corporations.

What's the net cost of a $10.10/hr employee vs. minimum wage employee?

Indeed. And if a job doesn't pay enough, no one takes the job...then the business goes under. Market forces...Doesn't understand that either I suspect.

HA HA. Oh so now I'm a "liberal", huh ? So is this where we're at now ? If you can't defeat the message, go after the messenger ?

The liberals in this forum (I've been battling) must be gagging right now hearing you call me a liberal. Actually, I'm probaly more conservative than the whole bunch of you all combined.

Well, dinner time now. I'll be off the computer. You can click these links to see what REAL Conservative is like.

I suspect not. The creep unveiled himself...a LIB/Statist/Progressive that thinks it's in Governments' purview to do such things, when it isn't. Never has been.

So you worked for 5 years.

Some of us have to work until we die.

But my neighbors nor do taxpayers owe me a living.

A long time ago I decided that I needed a minimum wage to make me happy. I was able to obtain the same by VOLUNTARILY TRADING my marketable skills with my employer. He makes money and I make money.

He was not forced at gun point to pay for my services.

.

It should be FREE MARKET!!! NO minimum wage.

If McDonalds can find people willing to flip burgers for $1 and hour, then so be it, THAT is what their labor is worth.

Im tired if all these left wing fags saying labor is worth more than what the market SAYS its worth.

If you stock shelves at Costco, and Costco can get someone to do it just as well for $3 an hour, then THAT is what your labor is worth. Get over it or get another job.

A truly free market promotes greed. Greed is bad.

The fact that you haven't tried to explain how raising someones minimum wage will actually hurt them tells us that you're the idiot we can all clearly see you are.

Shouldn't need to explain it to you. It should be common sense. Raising the minimum wage increases the cost of everything. How will those people be able to afford it after inflation?

FALSE! Raising MW has no effect on prices. (generally)

That's just plain idiotic nonsense.

Yep and on OUR terms. You know being responsible for ourselves.
But my neighbors nor do taxpayers owe me a living.
Yep. Our terms again...that responsibility thing....
A long time ago I decided that I needed a minimum wage to make me happy.
Responsible people DO, and they are the BEST at what they do and can command wages commensurate with their skills because they have a goal and are responsible.
I was able to obtain the same by VOLUNTARILY TRADING my marketable skills with my employer. He makes money and I make money.
Best deal going. And even the consumer gets a deal too!
He was not forced at gun point to pay for my services.

.
Amen. Responsible people working for the benefit of all involved with NO government meddling. Free Market...what a concept.

The twerp has no clue and is showing just whom he is...a poseur pretending to be what he isn't. ANother Starkey perhaps? A sockpuppet of Fakey perhaps?

The President has it wrong. It should be;

-Raise minimum wage to $23.50/hr. Based on where minimum wage should be using 1970-2013 rise in food, shelter, and transportation.

-Eliminate all business subsidies (deductions/write-off’s/write-downs) except for employee expenses which are deducted dollar-for-dollar on all city, state, and Federal taxes and fees.

-Adjust Social Security and private/public retirement and pension payments using 1970-2013 price structure.

-Back down ALL costs, prices, fees, to January 1, 2009 levels and hold them for 10 years.

-Subsidize all business with less than 200 employees the difference (if any) all taxes and fees vs total employee expenses.
