11 white jurors, 1 Black man seated in Arbery murder trial

So because he is black the jury should be mostly if not all black? Shit if that happened jails would shut down around the country because there wouldn't be any blacks convicted of anything ever again. A black guy could be smoking crack, strangle a woman on video, infront of a crowd, while evading police, and threatening to kill the president and admitting to killing his kid and he would be found not guilty in a record setting trial time of 2 minutes.

well we do know the residents where black gangs kill off the neighborhood, never turn anyone in. So, your point is very accurate.

What is the justice system? If we can't expect 12 jurors to decide a case fairly then what does that say about the system itself? Why use this system at all if we don't have confidence in the jurors to do the right thing? Isn't it a slap in the face to the white jurors in this case if you are already pre-judging that they will vote solely based on the fact that they are white and not on the merits of the case? (personally, I believe they will vote guilty)

And, what is justice? Is justice a case like this and 6 black jurors vote guilty and 6 white jurors vote not guilty? Is that fairness and justice? What is fair about a system where all of the black jurors vote one way and all of the white jurors vote another way, the hell with what goes on in court? We seem to live in a society now where justice and truth don't really matter. These cases seem to be decided before the trial and then we expect the jurors to ignore the trial and vote only based on the pretrial perception. If one side does not get the result they want then jurors are accused of not doing their jobs.

In the summer long riots, protesters often talked about wanting justice but they didn't really want justice, they wanted the outcome they wanted and if they didn't get it, they say that justice was not done.
Well we have history in this country where all white juries have unjustly convicted black men for crimes they didn't commit, we have also seen the same when it commits to white men murdering black men.

And many of us are working to stop that, but at the same time, we're not getting much help from the very people we are trying to protect.

Regardless, in this case, is it your position that the black jurors no selected were wrongly dismissed?

name one.

You can make amendments to it, damn don't you know that.

Do you know what it takes to pass an amendment? It's not a majority of Congress. It's 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate. Then it has to get passed by the legislatures in 3/4 of the states. Do you think that will ever happen?

And when was the last time that happened? No, I don't mean convicting somebody with evidence, I mean convicting a black person when the evidence was clearly on their side?

History is all that we have to go on and when it comes to cases like this they haven't.

People who served on juries were fair even then. My aunt was on a jury in the 1960's where they condemned an African American youth for murder. She pointed out afterwards, that the perp was convicted because he was guilty as sin, not because of his race.

In the south and big cities in the North East lots of blacks were railroaded.

They were and many are working to make sure it doesn't happen, like these 3. What assistance are you lacking from people of color? You are the majority that controls it.
