The Taliban had absolutely nothing to do with the Saudi attack on 9/11, and the whole purpose of Islam was so women would be treated better than they were previously, under Judaism.
Before Islam, the Old Testament proclaimed that women did not have souls, did not go to heaven, etc., so could not own property, inherit, testify, etc.
The main source of bad treatment of women comes from old customs from before Islam, not from Islam.
