44 years ago today, on July 20, 1969, man first set foot on a celestial body other than Earth, when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.

If man still exists 100,000 years from now, he will point to that event as the birth of homo sapiens spreading through the galaxy.

I remember that night well. everyone was talking about it. everywhere you went TV's were on. neighbors were getting together to watch it. We were roller skating. it was funny because everyone at the rink was around the tv set. no one was skating.

We take for granted what an accomplishment it was. when you think about it, we shot people I a rocket, landed them on an object a few hundred thousand miles away. with very little oxygen. brought them back though a reentry with intense heat and landed them safely. what it took to be able to do that

You'd think something with such historical significance would be mentioned on the major news networks. Guess again! All that was on was a bunch of whiny Black people and their Liberal White counterparts talking about...you guessed it...Trayvon/Zimmerman.
