A Black Republican Tells Byron Donalds To Shut Up

The former chair of the Republican party had some words for Byron Donalds. Now nortice the Michael Steele will not be called an Uncle Tom or Sellout. And he is a black Republican. The narrative about blacks from the right is a false one and just like Steele tells Donald to shut up, the same goes for right wing whites who seem to think that blacks must agree with blacks who are so stupid as to utter the words Donald did.

Former RNC Chair Blasts Byron Donalds' Jim Crow Remarks: 'Stop This Crap'

Michael Steele, former chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), blasted Representative Byron Donalds, a Florida Republican, on MSNBC's The Weekend on Sunday for his previous Jim Crow remarks, telling him to "stop this crap."

Donalds spoke about the Jim Crow-era, a period of racial segregation following the Civil War that continued until the late 1960s, while at a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump in Philadelphia on Tuesday, which was aimed at engaging Black people to vote for the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.

After showing a clip of this fiery exchange on The Weekend on Sunday morning, Steele, who is a co-host on the program, said, "You don't double down on Jim Crow, bro. You just don't. You can't convince Black people or anybody else that we were better off in a segregated society where your behind wouldn't have even been allowed in Congress and certainly would have had questions about who you socialize with."

Steele went into an anecdote from when he was growing up in Washington, D.C., while it was still segregated: "My mama couldn't take me to certain parks in D.C. because of Jim Crow. And yet, I sit where I sit now despite that."

He continued: "I'm not going to forget that though and I'm not going to try to romanticize it and pretend that somehow my mama and I were better off when she couldn't take me to that park. So just stop it. And especially Black Republicans, stop this crap, let's be honest about it."

Michael Steele makes his living as MSNBC's "pet" Republican.

I think he will. A good portion of blacks see the problem and know it is all because of the democrats. You have a problem on your hands.
I'm black, and what you say isnot happening. We see the problem and it is primarily Republicans and what they propose for policy.

I DGAD. He is a Republican and he was Chair of the RNC. Bottom line is that he s a black man who grew up during Jim Crow, while Donalds wasn't even a thought. Donalds is wrong and I have show that he is factually wrong.

The Growing Racial and Ethnic Divide in U.S. Marriage Patterns

R. Kelly Raley, Megan M. Sweeney, and Danielle Wondra

"Although before the 1960s age at first marriage and the proportion of women ever married were similar among whites and blacks, blacks had higher rates of marital dissolution during this period."

You do understand what those last 10 words tell you don't you? They should tell you that during Jim Crow the rate of marriages ending was higher for blacks than whites. So then Donalds assertion of the strong black family is inaccurate.

Both understand it was democrats who was responsible for Jim Crow.
No, one side keeps blaming Democrats when in fact 4 out of the 7 supreme court votes that made Jim Crow a national policy were Republican.

Isn’t that what all politicians do? How’s he different
That's EXACTLY why I said what I said.

No Different than any other Politician.

ALL politicians are SCUM, and don't seek to help constituents, they ALL only seek re-election.

Tell me I'm incorrect.

Actually I have provided facts all the time. You have beentheone holering racist because you have no argument. Donalds is an Uncle Tom amd the facts show that he is wrong.

"Although before the 1960s age at first marriage and the proportion of women ever married were similar among whites and blacks, blacks had higher rates of marital dissolution during this period."

These facts show that back marriages failed more than white ones during Jim Crow. So what Donalds said was bullshit. Black poverty was 55 percent before the Great Society and was as high as 87 percent in the 1930's. The Great Society created the black middle class. The one consistent roadblock blacks have faced is white racism. Donalds is too scared to say that.
So blacks can’t keep a family together? Under Jim Crow or the welfare state nothing the government can do actually helps.

He had no point because we have families now. Single white women were receiving checks from the government during Jim Crow. So Donalds needs to STFU and you racists who want to cosign this because he is saying what you want to say can STFU too.

So in the 30’s black poverty was 87%. By the 50’s it was down to 55%. Even during Jim Crow that happened.

What is black poverty today?

You think 100 years of Jim Crow had no effect on blacks?

Are you insane?

By your own statistics it seemed like they were doing better. Until the New Deal. Then it reversed itself. Can you explain that?
What the fuck are you claiming?

I have produced no statistics of the sort

Spin it any way you like, it's your story.
I don't have to spin it. First off Republican Rutherford Hayes made the compromise that ended Reconstruction. Then the supreme court decision Plessy v. Ferguson has the rest of the evidence. The vote was 7-1. 4 of the votes were by Republlicans. Horace Gray, Henry B. Brown, George Shiras Jr., Rufus W. Peckham.

He wants to paint the picture that blacks were doing better during segregation because it fits his overal racist beliefs.

Blacks families are no different than white ones. The one difference is that blacks don't lead the country every year in crimes against family and children.

Less than 20 percent.

87 percent in 1939. 55 percent in 1959. Both of these numbers are very high. So don't try making Jim Crow something it was not for blacks.
