The lunatic killed over 20 totally innocent people worshiping in a church, many of them little kids, before the hero jumped into action. We have to ask, are we okay with this happening over and over. Even if we aren't, there isn't much we can do about it anyhow. The only way to solve this issue truly is to collect all guns from people, and that won't happen. So we just have pass more laws, but it will never address this issue properly.
We have "specialists" of the United States on French channels who say it is very easy for a Texan to get a weapon but it is more difficult for an automatic weapon.
he just had to lie by filling out the request, he was in the army too so he could have gotten the weapons before being fired from the army too?
Well yes, this particular case could have easily been prevented had there been a proper computerized nationwide background check system put in place.

But then again, you are allowing over 300 million people to buy as many guns and ammo as they want. Even if you ban those diagnosed with mental illnesses which in itself is a very slippery slope (who gets to make this diagnosis, can it be abused, etc.), you still have about 300 million guns per year (!) that get sold in this country to about 300 million Americans. We are going to keep seeing these massacres, get used to it.

This is what they say to the French media and they add that Trump had said: the French would have been happy to be armed at the bataclan, he is not wrong either.
It was an Commissioner who shot at one of the terrorists on his way home from work.
But after all this mass shooting maybe the NRA will open the door a little to the negotiations?

Even if they agree, those fixes are just band-aids. There will still be people who for whatever reason get angry and use a gun to mow down people. Remember, we still don't know why the guy in Vegas committed that massacre. He showed no signs of mental illness. So what "law" or background check would prevent a guy like that? Answer, none.

The Texas killer broke about a dozen gun laws, had been dishonorably discharged by the Military and was apparently infused with a special kind of hatred by the radical left but democrats still call for disarming law abiding gun owners and a murky issue they call "gun control". Any wonder democrats lost almost every significant election in the last six years?

Texas Shooting: Devin Kelley sent threatening texts before Sutherland Springs church attack, police say
The gunman who opened fire in a small Texas church, killing 26 people during worship services, sent threatening text messages to his mother-in-law before the attack, which appeared to stem from a domestic situation, authorities said Monday.

Investigators have concluded that the deadliest mass shooting in state history was not racially or religiously motivated, Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin said.

Based on evidence at the scene, they believe that Devin Patrick Kelley died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he was chased by armed bystanders and crashed his car.

Well he at least did cause the shooter to stop shooting and run. Let's at least be honest.

Europe is much safer in this respect, and that is because people don't carry guns. Here in the US you never know if the guy you're flipping off while driving is carrying one in his dash. In Europe, flip away! Yes, they do have terrorists in Europe that get a hold of weapons but compare that to how many get killed in the US simply due to guns. And how many terrorist incidents or massacres have been prevented by "law abiding gun owners"? For that to work, every single American would have to carry a gun, which will probably be a far worse scenario.

Just the point. You can have all the laws you want, but if the black market wants to sell to crazies, it won’t stop them.
It was illegal for him to own guns after his dishonorable discharge.
May have very well saved dozens of more lives had he had plans to go on a further shooting spree.
The shooter was a citizen with a gun too. Maybe people with dishonorable discharges shouldn't be able to buy more than a shotgun, 22, muzzle loader or crossbow?

See there could have been a regulation that would have stopped this. No guns for people who are dishonorably discharged.

According to a law enforcement official who spoke to CNN, Kelley bought a Ruger AR-556 rifle from a gun store in San Antonio in 2016. It is unclear if he passed a background check. He reportedly checked a box to indicate he did not have disqualifying criminal history.

You can have all the laws you want if you're just going to let a crazy man walk into your gun store and check a box that swears they are a good person and walk out with a gun.

This is what happened. So these deaths could have been prevented. Or maybe it would have been a lot harder for him to get his hands on a gun so maybe he would have just killed his inlaws and not all those other people. Or maybe he would have just killed 5 people with his car instead of 26.

If he got the gun on the black market fine. I guess you can't stop 100% of the crazies 100% of the time. This is true. But he easily purchased guns. Seems to me we could make it a little harder for them but what you are saying is that if someone wants a gun bad enough they're going to get it so I guess we shouldn't even try to make it harder for nuts because they'll eventually get their hands on a gun.

And that's just crazy talk. I would go buy some cocaine tonight except for I don't know where to find any so I guess I'll go have a beer. Now if you were in charge you'd make cocaine legal for me to get because in your opinion I'm going to get it anyways, right?

What a loser mentality. Honestly. See in my world the guy wouldn't have been able to purchase a gun and he would probably have just gone and killed his in laws and spared all those other people.

I know. Lets give out 50 round guns instead of the standard 20. I mean why not give them out free like candy on Halloween? There going to get their hands on them anyways right?

And lets give everyone grenades. I mean if we want them bad enough we will find them right?

It is illegal to plot to kill someone using anything.

So what firearms do you want to make illegal? Some of them, all of them? The ones you stupid cowardly Moon Bats are afraid of like my 25 AR-15s that have never been used in any crime? Guns that can fire a bullet bigger than a BB? Guns that can fire more than one shot? Guns that look dangerous?

In DC the filthy government wanted to ban all pistols, even in the home, but the Supremes said no in the Heller case.

Sorry Moon Bat but that is against the Constitution. Have you ever read the Constitution? Trust me, it is in the Bill of Rights that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Go look it up. What infringement are you planning?

Yes guns like AR-15's. The type that kill lots of people really, really fast. Like the one use in Orlando that killed 50 and injured many more even with an armed off-duty cop working security. Guns like the one that just really killed 26 in TX including half children. I think it would be a much different story had he had a revolver.

You said "Why aren’t you advocating to go after the black market, etc. Think of how many legal guns there are in the US, yet only 8% of firearm deaths are caused by them vs 92% illegal arms"

1. Why are you changing the subject? If you have some good ideas on some new gun regulations put them forward. Do you know how to stop so many legal guns from becoming illegal?

2. It almost seems to me that the gun manufacturers like the lax regulations. They know people will die but it's the price of doing business.

3. 33,000 gun deaths last year. So 8% if something like 2500 deaths every year. That's a lot no?

4. Each time we have a shooting we need to look at what we could have done to prevent that one shooting. This guy shouldn't have been able to buy a gun yet he did. I say punish the guy who sold him the gun. He didn't do a good enough background check. The families of the victims should own his gun store.
