A guess (on my part) about what will happen regarding Trump and SS and Medicare

Its my subjective opinion regarding Trump's low self-esteem and his need to be praised as a hero by the American voter, that he will do anything to achieve such praises.

That stated, Trump may be "leading on" the likes of Ryan and McConnell about these congressional leaders' attempts to privatize SS and Medicare.....Trump may tacitly encourage such bills to be introduced and passed by congress, only to be vetoed by Trump......and then be regarded as the "hero" by the common American and viewed as the protector of those programs much praised and needed by the average voter.

Honestly, no one really knows what Trump is going to do. He has changed his position on numerous issues, numerous times. He is a populist. He yearns to be loved and accepted. He will follow the prevalent opinion.

If Ryan and McConnell pull this off, it's going to be a bloodbath in 2018, and it's going to be their blood as well as the Republican majority in both the House and Senate. We just have to hope that President Bannon and VP Kushner veto it. Trump will be too busy tying up traffic in Manhattan while sitting in Trump Tower and Tweeting.
