Zone1 A Question For Pro-Choicers

its how they are raised that determines how they behave in public .
I think they are that way because that kind of behavior enhanced the ability of their ancestors to thrive in sub Saharan Africa. That is why, the better we treat them, the worse they behave.

We need to build taxpayer funded orphanages. Why aren't we doing that?
We need to replace welfare support for illegitimate children and their unmarried mothers with free abortion on demand. One free abortion can save a small fortune in welfare, educational, criminal justice expense and crimes not committed.

They will be surprised when those children begin to emulate their biological parents.
Depends on the age that they are adopted. If the birth parents have time to influence the child's behavior, you're probably right. Then there is the nature vs. nurture argument--bottom line, raising kids can be a crap shoot. You do the best you can.

Adopted children whose biological parents have felony convictions are more likely to earn felony convictions than the people who adopt them.

I think you'll need a link for that one. Your statement depends on many factors which you do not address.

The criminal gene: the link between MAOA and aggression

Analysis of data from several studies indicates that the strongest link between genetic variation and aggression comes from monoamine oxidase A (MAOA); a gene encoding an enzyme responsible for catabolising amine neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and noradrenaline...

Male members of a large Dutch kindred displaying abnormal violent behaviour were found to have low MAO-A activity linked to a deleterious point mutation in the 8th exon of the gene. The unaffected male members within the family did not carry this mutation. The first study that investigated behaviour in response to provocation showed that, overall, MAOA-L individuals showed higher levels of aggression than MAOA-H (high MAOA activity) subjects. There was also strong evidence for a gene-by-environment interaction as both groups showed similar low levels of aggression with low provocation, but MAOA-L individuals displayed significantly higher levels of aggression in a high provocation situation.

As more is learned about human genetics I am confident that it will obvious that crime is a genetic inclination. The authors of this study suggest that those who are born with crime genes should be treated leniently because they cannot help their inclinations.

I maintain on the contrary that rehabilitation will not work for them, so they should be kept in prison.

This line seems to negate your argument. If it is a genetic mutation within the family and some members of the family are unaffected, that seems to fly in the face of your assertion that all of the offspring would be affected.

As time goes on more crime genes will be discovered.
