Advanced Calculus: The John Kasich Math & Saving the GOP Brand.

I think the primaries are about parties vetting and weighing out the best candidate for the most likely win in the Fall. And to that qualification, John Kasich handily wins.

This is why the RNC adn the DNC babysit the primaries and hold the "veto" in the conventions....because if not, it would just cleanly be up to the voters to pick 'their favorite persona' without regard to how that persona might adversely affect the party brand.

The parties have a right to do this, both of them. And it's why even if Sanders pulled ahead, the superdelegates wouldn't pick him anyway. He would make the word "democrat" synonymous with "communist". And that's a brand and administration that would burn deep in the skin of that party for many decades to come, to the entire party's detriment....as the normal political winds shift this way and that left or right of the MIDDLE mindset..

Umm, yeah. John Kasich ate pizza with a knife and fork in front of the cameras. In New York.

Certainly This Is What Will Bring Down the Republican Party

Can a huge asteroid please just end all this now. WTF is going on!? The end times must be near, trump and Cruz trash each other's wives, and now Kasich is eating New York pizza with a knife and fork.

Even the pizza rat would see that and say out loud WHAT THE F#@K!!

I thought it was bad enough that candidates are debating penis size. But now eating pizza with utensils is supposed to matter too? Shake my damn head.

So sarcastic humor is something you haven't seen before? Or you intentionally don't want to see humor in life?

Because it is funny as hell!

Any subject whatsoever that has absolutely no relevance can be a good campaign issue if it's given the right spin. Candidates will say and do anything to please the crowd. If you really want change, get up and walk out of the debate or the rally when the candidates start this bullshit and see how fast they get back to the real issues. Frankly, I think most voters in the primaries love this bullshit.

I think the electorate is extremely leery of the establishment. And so, they go for the most outrageous because instinct tells them "this isn't the same as usual".

It's worth noting that the establishment does not want Kasich either. Because he would build a bridge between the two parties by independent thinking. Word has it the GOP establishment doesn't like independent thinkers. If they could take their allegiance to the establishment rejects and place on Kasich, they'd get the best of both worlds. Not "the usual" but also not insane..

That does make sense. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said the voters want the most outrageous because it isn't the same as usual. This feeling is in both parties but is much stronger among Republicans. After 8 years of Republican congressmen's inept attempt at dealing with Obama, two disastrous presidential elections and 8 years of George Bush, I can see why Republicans would lose faith in the establishment.

I find Trump really scarcely. The last thing this country needs is an outrageous president who acts on impulse says women should be punished for an abortion then retracts. Says Muslims should be bared from entering the country then says only some Muslims, then only immigrants and refugees. Who knows what he really means.

And on foreign policy, he says South Korea should be armed with nuclear weapons. As president that statement could well be interpreted as a prelude to war by North Korea. You just can't have a president running off at the mouth and treating the presidency as a soapbox to express his opinion.

If Tiny Hands suffers from malignant narcissistic personality disorder, as many suspect he does, classically in fact, then he will be incapable of thinking before nasty and combative words come out of his mouth. Look up the disorder sometime. If you think he is scary now, wait until you learn that he has absolutely no control over what he does and he will get worse as he ages. The recovery rate for people with NPD is 0%. None of them ever become truly healed because it is a permanent wiring of the brain and personality from the very earliest of ages to form a perspective that only they matter in the world and nothing, and nobody else does...ever. This is their default programming. And they fly into calculating vindictive vendettas against even the slightest affront to their gigantic fragile egos..all while simultaneously "walking it back" to preserve their image and also simultaneously blaming their attack on their victim as justified. It takes way too much time to get into the many games a person with NPD plays, and how they all do the same games with the same predictability. Suffice to say that none of them would be wise or safe to have sitting in the Oval Office.

It might actually spell the end of the world.

The solution to the perfect storm of democrats winning this Fall by GOP foolishness is to seed the clouds early and control the time of the rains. The GOP could rightly declare "the last man standing" after serious violations of requirements of candidates have been done by Tiny Hands and his current nemesis "The Waxen Puppet". There have to be rules of conduct of which if a candidate sinks below, the party has a right and a duty to save its brand by disqualifying said candidate(s). Who would be left standing of course is the sober, experienced and qualified candidate John Kasich.

The GOP needs to stop saying "Kasich just can't win, the math isn't on his side" and start talking about Ted Cruz's Canadian birth certificate and how those who used to support Cruz (with their "anyone but Trump vote) should now go to Kasich. THEN there would be enough abandoned delegates and amassed delegates for the RNC to force a vote at the convention for the best man to beat Hillary in the Fall.

And the polls show clearly and consistently that this man is John Kasich. Anything less would tarnish the GOP brand so harshly that it would cease to exist. John Kasich would re-establish and strengthen the brand in everyone's eyes and re-adjust the political equilibrium so vital between the two sides of the aisle.

Of course John Kasich is NOT the Cheney/Rove pick. Because anyone with eyes can see he'd tell them to fuck off if their nefarious plans might hurt the US as a whole. So this, and no other thing, is the cause of "the obvious angst in the GOP". There really is no angst. 99.999999999% of the establishment know that Kasich would save the party and win this Fall. it's just that .000000001% named "Dick Cheney and homies" that there seems to be this big uproar on the right.

But how much more will the entire republican party sacrafice for this evil .000000001% of their ranks? (Assuming a 5-time draft-dodger, gay marriage promoter, raised by democrats, Obama-praiser can be considered "GOP establishment"..). Want to talk about hurting the brand and where all the Trumpsters came from? There you go.. If the GOP could scrape off that one, huge festering barnacle off its collective butt, they'd find that all their dreams would come true..

He wins one state....his home state....and the other guys who win 49 others between the two of them should just step aside.....

this is the kind of thinking that created the movement that Trump leads......

Tell Kasich to comeback in 4!

Right now, the GOP has to tear itself apart.

P.S. George Bush already destroyed the brand! Trump brings levity to it!

That's just complete bullshit and a lie. He's for returning power to the lower ranks to be autonomous. And he isn't against the 2nd Amendment! This guy must be a schill for Lyin' Ted or Tiny Hands..

Kasich is a nice guy, but he seems far more in the HW, HW, Dole, W, W, McCain line of Democrats with an R after their name than the Reagan line. Cruz has the best positions, particularly on economics. And his mother is American, get off it, he's Natural born American

Yes, this fits Trump quite well. Political leaders in Moscow and Washington have always studied the psychological makeup of their opposition. I wonder what they would think of Trump, predicable or unpredictable?

Kasich's Second Amendment Problem - Breitbart

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Governor John Kasich’s hopes that he had overcome the anti-gun reputation he had earned for supporting the Clinton Gun Ban in 1994 may now be dashed, after he told two separate Sunday talk shows that he is considering nominating a Supreme Court justice who might abolish the Second Amendment.

While Kasich often calls himself a conservative when running in GOP primaries, those familiar with his record say he is the epitome of an establishment moderate.

He joined Obamacare by forcing through its Medicaid expansion over the opposition of the Ohio legislature, supports Common Core, tells conservatives that they need to drop opposition to same-sex marriage, and even believes that Christian bakers who still support traditional marriage should be required to bake cakes for same-sex weddings that violate their faith.

But in recent years, one issue on which Kasich had followed the conservative line is the right to keep and bear arms. In a testament to the National Rifle Association’s political prowess and strategic planning, there are few parts of the country where Republicans can win primaries without pledging support for the Second Amendment. The same holds true even for Democrats in the general elections of many states.

This was a problem for Kasich, because in 1994—before the NRA conclusively proved they had mastered the ability to mobilize gun-rights supporters—Kasich voted for the Clinton Gun Ban.

Although called by the poll-tested term “assault weapons ban,” this legislation outlawed over a dozen standard-issue firearms, specifically ones that had outward features that gave them an appearance that Bill Clinton and his allies found easy to demonize.

The assault weapons ban was not a stand alone statute. It was a subsection of the Violent Crime and Law Enforcement Act. The vast majority of the law were things that nearly any conservative would support.

Predictably narcissistic for sure. And that means walk on eggshells around them, and even if you do and you seem to shine more than they do, they will systematically spare no effort butchering you to shreds. God help us if a world leader attracts attention for being a better businessman than T. Rump, or makes a comment about his Tiny Hands. The asteroid belt #2 in our solar system won't be far behind.. When a person who is afflicted with malignant narcissistic personality disorder says "nukes won't be off the table", that's not just him whistlin' Dixie. You should sit straight up in your chair and have all the blood draining out of your face.

All that being said, what do you think Putin thinks of Kasich, a fellow slavic boy? I think Putin fears him or at least respects him the most of all the candidates out there. With Kasich they know there isn't going to be any manipulating fragile or calcified egos. With Kasich you'd better talk logic or go home. And that's not a position of advantage for Putin. IMHO.
