Reprehensible and disgusting. Two black male teenagers are being sought in the beating death of 88-year-old Delbert Benton. Mr. Benton was an Army WW II veteran who survived combat during the bloody Battle of Okinawa. This must end! I have yet to hear a peep out of Head of NAACP Ben Jealous at all. As an Army combat veteran and son of a WW II veteran I am beyond angry. We have a problem in the black community and it is high time we taught this generation of young black men a lesson in respect, dignity, and honor. This can no longer be tolerated. Mr. Benton was an American treasure. Farewell my Brother.

Funny thing is, on my way home one of the churches that is mostly black here was putting up tribute to him on their reader board. Other businesses have also made tribute to him.

I work (don't live) in a black community. A majority of the people I talk to on a daily basis are black. 90% of them are hard working, respectable people. Unfortunately, it's still one of the most crime ridden cities in America, and most of it is black on black violence. It's a matter of environment more than race. When a white man is beaten or killed in this area I don't see race; I see a need for societal change in these communities. On this, I agree with Allen West.
