America's coming civil war -- makers vs. takers Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/op

Because, flacalteen, China is not America . . . it is a corporatist-totalitarian business state, where 30% of every $ is generated by consumers.

America is consumer driven, 70% of every $ is consumer.

So you want to be like China, flacaltenn; I don't. I am glad you revealed your feelings are not for your fellow Americans.

Consumer demand precedes anything else. R & D, organization and management, labor, and development of transportation and communication infrastructure follow.

Job creation depends on a companies need to expand due to consumer buying.

Hey Jakey -- How did China become a superpower in 20 years? Did they hand out $200 to the consumers with the demand? Did they practice deficit spending to STIMULATE the economy? NO -- There was a HUGE influx of FOREIGN CAPITAL.. Not designed to satisfy the DEMANDS of the Chinese consumers -- but to serve the interests of the foreign investors. Only now --- that they have BUILT and expanded their economy -- does their needs even matter..

Same with restarting and EXPANDING any economy.. Take your adamant foot-stomping "PERIODS" with a Midol and stuff it..

Pho_King simply has been fail in his thread.

Pho_king's assumptions are in error, because they cannot be logically based on the information given. He spins a silliness of make believe.

In the meantime, Tea Parties are for little girls who have imaginary friends.

Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that I am as you describe-a dumb fuck. And you are as you describe yourself-a stellar underpaid employee. There are three glaring differences between us. First, you clearly possess a superior intellect. Second, Even as a dumb fuck, I have managed to find a station in life where I am quite happy with my position. Third, I don't find excuses for not attaining the success I aspire to.

So let's recap. You are an engineer with a brilliance nobody above you recognizes, and are thus relegated to a positioning life that is beneath your worth. Your problems are not internal-they are the result of lesser men with more success keeping you down. I am a dumb fuck with an eighth grade education. Yet, in spite of my clear stupidity, I have attained a position that I am happy with. I meet more successful people all the time. And in them I see nothing but opportunity.

Your superior intellect does not seem to be serving you nearly as well as my eighth grade education.

Shut up, bitch. Nobody wants to read your whines either.

Why don't you try developing your patentable and profitable technologies yourself? Otherwise, you sell yourself cheaply.

Most engineers are locked down pretty tightly. At some point, I might start doing my own thing again. It just takes a lot for a lone wolf to wear all the hats it takes to get a tech company off the ground.

And yet you would support the camp that insists that anyone who has made their own fortune by their wits, skills, and sweat equity are evil because they "take" so much from the middle class and the poor.

I don't remember dissing small business owners (at least ones who didn't dis me first). My beef is with corporate guys who appear to have gotten to the top by means of bullshit and ass kissing. And yes, I realize that every successful corporate suit isn't an incompetent boob.

Consumer demand precedes anything else. R & D, organization and management, labor, and development of transportation and communication infrastructure follow.

Job growth depends on market need (consumer), worker and boss (skills and management), and capital (investor).

Period.

Job creation depends on a companies need to expand due to consumer buying.

If this ^^^ is what passes for education these days it's no wonder America is swirling the bowl!

Fuck Jake, you had to WORK to get that stupid!

Your reasons for whining, Guy Pinestra, were addressed in #381 above.

If you wish to live in a corporatist-totalitarian economy like China, go live there.

Takers will always take. That's just the way that goes. And it's the Makers who provide for all that taking. The Socialists/Progressives demonizing them, will hurt all Americans at some point. It may be getting them some Votes, but it's destroying the Nation.

Your beef is with yourself, you just won't admit it.

Very Zen. Maybe that means that when you rail against the government, you're actually railing against yourself.

Too bad the so-called progressive liberals are so stupid, blind, and ignorant that they persist in demanding that government take from the successful innovators in order to ensure that the unsuccessful achieve an equality of outcome. If they could be convinced to revert to an economic climate favorable to the successful, we might be able to persuade businesses and manufacturers to return to the US.

Paulie is a taker...he takes up space on the message board repeating the same post almost verbatim...that's because he's a hard core Libertarian who only gives a shut about sparking up his next bowl legally....perhaps that's why he does it...short term memory loss?

Hey Ignoramus --- Yeah you..

Did China HAVE a ((30% ??)) consumption economy BEFORE the Foreign capital and technology and training came in --- Or only after?

What was the size of their Middle Class in 1980?

How far in debt did China have to go to accomplish this?

Get over the setting I chose for the experiment. They are eating our lunch in expanding their personal wealth and prestige. How it happened matters a LOT more than your silly foot stomping.

China is now where America was in the early 1900's. A wealthy ruling class that controls everything and a massive working class that is forced to work for peanuts while the ruling class rakes it in. The only difference is that in the robber-baron days of America, the corporatists ruled....in China...it's government. No wonder you boys like them...that's your new vision of the American Dream.
Wait till the Chinese version of Lech Walesa pops up and organizes the workforce....oh yeah....that's right.....they'll just execute him...once again...no wonder you like China so much.

Let's not forget that China has a rigged trade system, a rigged monetary system, and hold investing companies hostage by demanding intellectual property rights sharing. Great deal for slave labor.....not!

workers need to make sure they are working for a reputable company. If its shady, all the jobs should go unfilled.

Naww --- WAAAY off here. I have windows open on my desktop right now doing biz in China. There has been a MASSIVE expansion in what was a NON-Existent Middle Class. It is literally amazing how that has come about.. Don't have time for charts and numbers right now -- but you're wrong about working for peanuts and dictators.

Labor costs RIGHT NOW are rapidly going up WITHOUT any help from a union. Read the freakin' paper.

Do ya later... My Chinese Master calls..

These are questions you have to answer, flacaltenn. You wish to compare the economies and you argue that consumerism is not the primary difference between the two, then you have to answer the questions I pointed out. They are part of your case, not mine. Make sure you can document your points.

Apply said notion to me if it makes you feel better. But how is that going to help you in this messed up world you inhabit, where you would have a whole lot more money if only other people were smart enough to realize how valuable you are?

Our company does contract services for several Chinese and Korean companies. It's almost amazing that so many aircraft go back overseas with nothing but dunnage on board. So, the profits made by shipping stuff from there to here justifies flying back basically empty. At least they pay their bills.
