We're simply replacing a faulty set of values with a more rational one. There are things that are genuinely harmful as they cause damage to other people and take from them. Theft, murder, rape, assault etc.

Then there are things that are 'wrong' because we say they are. Cheeseburgers. Blowjobs. Working on Sunday. Lesbianism. Eating dogs or horses. Wearing cotton and leather at the same time. There's nothing inherently harmful with them. They just offend the cultural or religious sensibilities of some folks.

She refused, insisting she would do everything in her power to prevent her clerks from issuing such licenses.

Strike 1.

Her clerks removed her name from the licenses and began to issue them when she was in jail. Davis continued to oppose them insisted that without her signature that none of the licenses were valid. This despite neither her name nor her participation being required for the issuance of any license.

Strike 2.

And now, out of jail, not having to issue any license personally, and her name removed from the certificates, she's seeking to prevent any clerk from issuing any such license.

Strike 3.

This has nothing to do with Kim Davis being 'forced' to act against her religion. And everything to do with her trying to use the State to force other people to obey her religion. This is a straight up, crass and ugly Fundamentalist Christian power play. A window into what the Huckabees of the world would do if you gave them the power:
