Yes, When the bad guys show up, I can fumble with my gun safe combination, look for the key to the trigger lock, attempt to load the gun, all while being scared to death, and then hope that the electronics work, and the battery has not gone dead. Rack up another one for the bad guys. But, maybe the cops will catch them, and maybe they might go to jail, if some asshole judge doesn't think they murdered me because they had a bad upbringing, and turn them back into society.

RFID tags can be easily copied. Translation: Using very inexpensive parts the bad guys and cops could scan your RFID, copy the response, then use the copy to take ownership and use of your gun.


RFID tag readers rely on radio frequencies, that can easily be jammed. Translation: Using RFID would allow the bad guys and cops to lock your gun at will with an RFID jamming device made from very inexpensive parts, and kill you with their non-rfid guns.

It's a good idea to make guns safer for the user and his family. You could, for example, scan the gun every morning when you get up so it works for that day. But if it's stolen, the bad apples couldn't use it after that first day, Also, if you were to only scan it when you needed the gun, the scan could prevent little johnny from finding the gun and shooting his friend or sister with, which has happened enough times already.

But like I said, unstable people like you will never want there to be less children shooting each other, so I'm again talking about normal people.
