But you're missing the point. Liberals want to make laws that prohibit people from having guns, thinking that these laws will stop people from committing violent crimes. Of course, if having a law was sufficient to convince them to not commit the violence, then the laws prohibiting murder would already suffice. Therefore, the only effect of laws targeting possession of guns is to restrict the behavior of people who choose to be lawful and have no intent on violence.
