I have no first hand experience with Sweden, but socialism and communism do not have to guarantee anything to anyone. It all depends on what people decide to agree on. On the other hand, Stalin was never an idealist, communist, socialist, Anarchist, of any sort.
He was simply a bank robber, and that is a criminal who values money over people.

I just got done explaining that Karl Marx was ignorant of how unions and labor laws can be used to counter the economic abuses he was reacting to at the beginning of the industrial revolution.

I personally believe more in Anarchism, which is the deprecation of coercive government, much like the Libertarian view point.

I just have to point out that the most progress I have seen was in places like rural Kansas where people pooled resources in order to build their own coops to do what they needed, at the lowest cost and keeping their control.

Under Lenin, it was close to communism but when Stalin took over it became a dictatorship. The least educated seems to believe that government are linear. The Right is on one side while the opposite end is the left. In reality, it's circular where if either the left or the right get too out of kilter, both turns into a Dictatorship. This is why Hitler's Nazism and Stalins Communism ended up being very similar.
