Apparently, Conservatives now support massive entitlements?

It continues to be one big government liberal initiative after another with Trump. Now, we are supposed to get behind a plan for 6 months of paid maternity leave... a plan the liberals have been pushing for years. Once again, Donald Trump proves he is not a Conservative. And ANY of his enthusiastic pom-pom wavers who want to defend this crap are not Conservatives either.

It just blows my mind that we have numerous foremost voices of Conservatism out there defending this today. Is this what we're going to do? Sell out all our conservative principles to support Trump because he's not Hillary? Hey... I get it... we gotta vote for him or we're going to get the Marxist... but let's be clear, we're voting for a big government liberal.

You have to wonder... how many more republicans are going to have to be waylaid by the left when trying to pander to them? GW Bush outspent the previous two Democrats on entitlements and expanded social programs the most since LBJ... look what it got him! McCain had campaign finance reform, Romney had Romneycare. Bush and Rubio out there pushing amnesty plans. It doesn't work, people!

Conservatism is a deeply-rooted philosophy articulated by numerous conservative minds through the years and some fluke populist candidate for president isn't going to change it. There have been populists before, this is nothing new. There have been nationalist-populists... nothing new there either.
