Are marriage rules racist? Photo ID requirement

and you get to pick the date when you have to show your id by.

in an election desiding all of the sudden someone has to show ID when there is NOT enough time before the elections to get one .

so how about the gov who passed an ID law and then tried to close all the poor cities DMVs before the election?

6 months isn't enough time?

Longest I ever waited was 3 hours to get mine.

Really! As of right now they have almost 4 years to get ready to vote!

Those of us who are responsible Americans will be voting in 2014, but you're right, liberals have 4 years.

You have to BUY a license to get married. Do you have to BUY a license to vote?

What do you think it costs to establish a residence?

Nothing if one is still living with someone else. Are we now suggesting that people have to get a license to vote?

So you want to sponge off your friend? Not pay shit?

You need a license to do everything else. Why exclude the need for voting if you already have one?

Face it, you fuckers just want to cheat. Picture IDs cut down on the cheating. That's why you don't like em.

How stupid analogy? How is photo I'd to vote racist but not to marry? Both are constitutional rights

One must show a photo ID, or approved document, to register to vote – no one has any issue with that.

Whether registering to vote for the first time or getting a marriage license – ID is required only once.

What is inappropriate, however, is to compel a registered voter – who has already proven he’s eligible to vote when he registers – to needlessly provide at every election his ID, which may be a hardship for many low-income voters.

The potential for racism comes into play when republicans attempt to enact voter ID laws to discourage minority voters from voting, whom they perceive as likely democratic voters. We know such laws aren’t designed to combat voter ‘fraud,’ as there’s no evidence any election result was altered as a consequence of ‘fraud.’

So, yes, it’s a failed and stupid analogy; you’re comparing two completely unrelated things.

Sorry Clayton, you're wrong. You aren't required to show ANYTHING when you register, you simply sign an affirmation that you are eligible.

And there's NO REQUIREMENT in the Constitution that you have to show ANYTHING.

However, there IS a REQUIREMENT to be a US Citizen.

Any clue how to ascertain that WITHOUT showing an ID?
