Are You Ready for June?

Actually, with the speedloaders, it's closer to 4800 rounds - not "bullets". A bullet is the projectile loaded into the cartridge - and a "clip" is not a magazine - I add that as it seems you know very little about firearms.
I have no intrinsic need for any amount of ammunition. I do have a material need for the ammunition as it is required for my firearms to function. Actually, if used, the bulk of the ammunition would be for suppressor fire - provide a possible opportunity to flee a potential threat. If you feel absolutely safe where you are, I say cheese and crackers to you. Not all of us enjoy that luxury and make provisions to accommodate any uncertainties.

I even have more than one flashlight.

I was trollin' you, bro. This old deplorable right-winger probably has more ammo, firearms, and flashlights, myself. :04:

I loaded some .308 with IMR 3031.

I fired the bullets in my M1A.

The bullets were so slow they took 13 minutes for it to make it to the 100 yd target.

I use 3031 alot for the lighter .308, .312, and 6.5 Jap bullets. It's ok for up to 124 grain 30-06 but when I go up to a 147-180 grain, I use a slower-burning powder like Hodgdon 4350 or Alliant R-19. The heavier the bullet, the slower-burning the powder should be.
I only used the 3031 because a friend of mine gave me some because I helped him reload some M1 Carbine.

I used 150 gr Hornady bullets. Just for plinking.

Not my powder of choice for the M1A or FAL.

Let me consult my reloading database...

Let's see: When I was loading .30 carbine I used Alliant 2400 for the 110 gr. bullet, but that was too slow of a powder.

I was going to use H110 which was a better powder, but I sold the darned thing.

Wish I'd kept it. The thing I learned about reloading for the M1 carbines was case length: Trim them too long and they can fire out of battery, blowing up a perfectly good rifle. Trim them too short, and you get light firing pin strikes.

I usually trimmed them to 1.286", but that could vary, depending on the rifle.

I loaded several thousand M-1 Carbine cartridges a few years ago. Somebody (Midway?) had new production brass on sale and I bought a bunch of it. I loaded them hot with H110 and used soft tipped bullets. Been shooting them and still have a couple of thousand left.

I have taken the M-1 Carbine hog hunting with the soft tipped bullets and it has been very effect at 100 yds or less.

Is you a HAM? See the handheld. General class myself.

No ham license, although I thought about getting one. That's just a $4.99 Baofeng I picked up at Goodwill. it's programmed for all the police, fire, and EMS frequencies for the surrounding counties. Never know when shit's gonna go south.

OK, cool. Well, I certainly don't have the space that you do, especially for reloading. It's good to see others as well-prepared as you - one certainly can't be sure of anything anymore with the current appalling lack of common sense today.

Cheers

Soon June will be here. I guess no reminder is needed about last June.

I have 700 rounds of 9mm loaded, 600 rounds of 5.56 loaded, 300 rounds of .308 loaded, all 32 speedloaders are full and for fun, 3000 rounds of .22 loaded.

If nothing else, I'll be ready for several range trips this fall.

Cheers

LOL....I'd feel short on ammo with those numbers.
This is what I picked up over the last month our two.

I have around 7k in 5.56.
1K in .45 ACP.
700 hundred in .40.
1K in 10mm.
And 1K in 10.mm Magnum
View attachment 493520View attachment 493523
Those are Rookie numbers.

I have 28K .223

9K .308

10K 22LR

5K 9mm

2K .45

2K M-1 Carbine

1K 30.6

You misunderstood - my totals were for what I had loaded in magazines and drums. You've got me beat on 223 and 308. I've got you on 9mm and 22 by about a factor of 5.
I'm a revolver guy, so I have a substantial stash of 38s, 357s and 44s - about 14k total across all three - hence my reference to speedloaders. In 2019, 44s were finally plentiful and at much lower prices than they been in years, so I stocked up. On the 5.56 front, I managed to get 1k rounds of XM193 for $260 delivered in 2019 to complement what I already had. I have only one 5.56 rifle, but several 9mm PCCs. I have two dozen drums from F5, Beta Co, and Black Dog for the PCCs and 22 rifles.
Of course, thank God for Maglula's!

Cheers

I am not a pistol guy. I only have two 1911s, one 22 pistol and four 9mm but I am trading one of the 9mm this weekend.

The only other 22 I have besides the pistol is a 10-22.

I do have 29 ARs in addition to several .308s.

However, it seems like we are both "well regulated" for our respective arsenals. We will survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

The Magulas are great! I've managed to accumulate 3 of them for 9mm, one for 7.62x39, and one for .22 LR. They sure save your thumbs.

The Magula is the only way I can load up my Sig mags. Otherwise I could never get the last couple of rounds in.

I need to get one for my 10-22 high capacity mags. It is hard to load up the BX-25 mags.

How close is the nearest pack of feral animals running around in gangs? Next door??...lol

Very easy to get. Gordon West, well recognized HAM has books/study guides. Get Tech and General level books, study both, test q's in the book. Take the test, $14 Pass Tech stay and take the General class ($14 covers all) Very easy, I did both the same time. General gives you more access. No more morse on the test. I took the 3rd level test when there too? Bah hamburg that was hard! Failed that one.

BTW, what should I do with this 2400 pieces of mixed 5.56 and .223 brass? I don't even own an AR, I'm more of an AK guy.

The 5.56 is USGI issue and has crimped primers. The crimp would have to be swaged out...

I'll pay the shipping if you send them to me. I have everything to reload the brass including the swager.
