Grocery prices are probably the number one issue in the country right now. Very smart move for her to talk about that. The problem is you just can't simply ban high prices. I don't know who she has for staff advising her.... But if they're telling her she can just walk in and put a ban on high prices they're completely out of their minds.

The best way to bring prices down just to make it easier for the agriculturalists, The food processors and the distribution centers to operate. Once you do that natural competition will do the best possible job in the lowering the prices.

Maybe she could look at busting up a few monopolies? Good luck to her, she'll be making a lot of powerful enemies that actually have more authority than she does in their own way.

But I will say one thing.... It's about time we heard somebody talk about grocery prices. Most of those people down there in DC Don't care if they spend $3,000 a week on groceries They don't notice it.

It's just an excuse to push for socialism. Government wants control of labor and resources. Bend over.

A step by step analysis of the causes of high grocery prices, isn't suitable for a campaign. A simple statement in few words is.

Gouging by the producers or manufacturers is at least half true.

Cost of employment is also partially true, but it's a bugaboo for politicians.

In your view, what would be a good counter argument for Trump?

First of all, you're right. Democrats seem to believe that the answer to everything is greater gov't control, but as far as I can tell that has never worked. Actually, this is a push for getting elected in November. By herself, as president Harris cannot do a damn thing about food prices. She's going to be promising all sorts of stuff that she cannot deliver and to be honest, Trump is doing the same thing. So anything she or Trump promises is lip service; I have no doubt either one will try to do what they can but they'll need the Congress to do anything substantial IMHO. And price controls are not going to work, never has and never will.

It most likely will be dropped like a hot potato after the election.
Of course it will be dropped. The problem is as American as apple pie.

Dog help the system if the working class ever start considering the question as they go to vote!

Another simple statement. Cheaper energy.

Bullshit.

Yeah. This is why democracy, frankly, just doesn't work. Once voters get it in their heads that they can vote themselves a free lunch, it's all downhill from there.

There is an answer to the problem but Americans need to first have the courage to identify the cause or causes. You offer nothing and that's expected.

For the purpose of the election the winning formula is to blame the producers and manufacturers. It's simple!

There's nothing else simple enough for a political campaign. You sure the hell can't offer anything!

Congress can't do anything about it either. Many of them might not want to because they are stockholders. What they can do is change energy policy.

Yeah, but is there a better alternative than a democratic republic? It's the downside of freedom and liberty, you can choose to be stupid as an individual but also as a society.

I think you're right. Did Harris offer any details about what she could do about food prices? Or anybody else?
Yep....gonna make high prices illegal! Gonna put some CEOs in jail! Gonna fine the gougers! If you can find them that is.

Your lack of will or interest in changing it is something that's common to most of America's working class, and so can be added to the list, along with gouging, and union wages.

In fact, there's little difference between this problem and the refusal of lower cost and higher quality HC.

The American conservate says: Let Norway or some other socialist country supply America with cheaper tomatoes. But the government says, NO WAY! There will be tariffs if they even try!

So keep it simple for the campaigns.

Blame the producers and the middle man!
