It's becoming more common not to believe in God or organized religion these days, so it would only be natural for a few atheists to have made their way to Congress, right?

Below, we've managed to cram all of the atheists serving on Capitol Hill into one important GIF:

Yeah, there isn't a single admitted atheist currently in Congress.

Key word, "admitted".

Congress is full of liars whose sole job is to get elected and reelected. They pander for votes. Theists are just another bloc of votes. The majority of voters are Christian, therefore most congressional candidates are "Christian". If the majority of voters were Jews, most running for office would be "Jews".

This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with politicians being politicians.

There are two possible reason for this:

1) Could be the atheists in Congress are lying about it for votes.
2) Could be that there arent as many atheists in society as you'd like to believe.

Actually, it seems that both reason would be indicative that there arent as many atheists in society as youd like to believe. Because if there were, the atheists in Congress wouldn't have to lie.

Either way, I would invite you to come to Christ and to stop with the fantasy that is atheism.

Well, there are certainly more Jews in the Federal Government then were Jews to elect them. I feels atheists tend to be socialists/communists. They seek governmental control of everything. Anything that advances HUMAN manipulation, they seems to be for it. I mean the obvious countries where atheists were in charge were Communist. North Korea is a Communist country. South Korea is not. The USSR was a Communist country. China is a Communist "experiment" with a very controlled form of "free" market. But that Government controls what is taught in school and there are strict limits to "private" enterprise.

Umm, that's just a weird thing to say. Know many atheists? Or Jews? Just had to tell you it was weird, dude.

RE: atheists in congress:
Pete Stark isn't in Congress any longer, is he? I was reading an article some time ago about him and it also said there were a couple dozen atheists in Congress, but none of them wanted to say so, as they felt they would lose votes over it.

Why do you care more about their religion than their politics? Are you one of those bigots I keep hearing about?

A person who doesn't believe in God may just believe that he or she is god. Anyway, such would believe that God doesn't matter and miss blessings and likely bring on a curse.

Not weird at all. It proves that people are willing to vote outside their own religious beliefs but not ignore God entirely.

I can't recall a time when consideration of a person's personal belief system came into play while deciding who I would vote for, so to say there are more Jews in politics than Jews voting for them just looked odd.

What I thought was really odd was this: you seemed to be comparing all American atheist's political leanings toward communist/socialist regimes and that doesn't make sense. If that is not what the point was, then I missed it completely.
