Atheists view Christians with contempt and derision

Some Christians and atheists are such towering hypocrites and judgmental pains in the ass that they deserve all the criticism they receive. Most Christians and atheists just go about their day and stay out of other people's business. The people who want to preach at you are assholes no matter what belief system they are selling.
We Christians preach a standard that is higher than any of us will ever live up to. That's how it is. When we look up at the sky, we see the same sun and clouds that you do, but we can also look into the heavens.

I have seen far more threads claiming atheists are idiots for believing in the Theory of Evolution than I have seen threads claiming Christians are deluded.
Ok.

By the way, are you now the moderator for this forum?

I am now a moderator, yes. I have been for a little while. How long that will last is questionable.
I've never seen you use your authority to force your ideology on the open forum, so I hope you survive. You are a rare asset to this community.

And that's because the demons that have blinded the atheists also influence them to mock Christians. Atheists can't help themselves from taking shots at Christians.

2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
That is simply not true and you know it.
I have never seen an OP condemning and mocking godbotherers. You guys continually deride them because you feel threatened by them.
Your OP is a prime example of it.

The other thing is they respond with no emotion or any God baggage. Its the truth which you interpret as mocking .

You do understand that if one god created everything then that god also created demons don't you?

So it seems to me that if demons are controlling people ( and they're not) that it's god's will for it to be so.
You serve Satan well!
Your god made Satan

Liberals are more inclusive, tolerant, and loving.

Just like their “protests” are “mostly peaceful”.

Many atheists are offended by the highly conditional and hypocritical nature of Christian morality. The good book says to be virtuous but there are escape clauses galore that allow horrible people to feel like they are good. As to the relative goodness of Christians and Atheists there is probably little difference. People are people.
Atheists don't have a problem with immoral behavior; atheists have a problem with a Christian's immoral behavior.

The atheist claim that Christians proclaim themselves to be "better" than everyone else is an often parroted LIE.

The vast majority of Christians know that they are flawed sinners just like everyone else. Christians simply believe that, due to their faith in Jesus, they can and will be forgiven for their sins and that they will go to live with Jesus in paradise.
Is it enough to be forgiven by Jesus if little effort was made to seek forgiveness from the people we have wronged? Many Christians seem to think so. I do not agree that a ritual on Sunday should be the cure for a guilty conscience. Some people should never feel like they are off the hook for the pain they cause.

Well, come on. Christians made up a story and then manipulate people like crazy forcing them to accept their story.

They literally locked up Galileo for saying something a lot of people had known before Galileo, that the Earth revolves around the Sun.

The Christians simply went "nah, it's inconvenient, we'll just tell everyone our story is true and we'll kill you if you oppose us".

Why wouldn't people have contempt for that?

This "contempt and derision" might amount only to a demand to be left the hell alone and stop the pestering.
Bullshit. Atheists come into this sub-forum constantly to attack.
In all fairness, this thread is an attack on atheists. Also, atheism seems to be a favorite topic here in the Religion forum, a topic usually brought up by Christians.

The real atheists seem to keep to themselves unless the religious folk attempt to drag them into something,
I disagree. Go to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. and look for topics about Jesus, and the atheists are out in droves. The atheists can't help themselves; their demonic masters send them.
You are just blanketly calling anyone who disagrees with you an atheist. Besides christians, there are many other religions that believe in a supreme being, some more than one.

Why drag people who just want to be left alone into your religious sqabbles? Morons who call themselves "conservatives" have a weird habit of starting arguments about groups of people whose voices are ignored by the two contending factions. The contending factions play a bizarre game of "monkey in the middle." That monkey in the middle has the right to have the controlling voice in the dispute.

Christians make a mockery of the faith. They spit in the face of the natural creation.
It sounds like you hate Christians. Why?
So, as the world laughs at contemporary Christians for their insistence on a 6,000-year-old creation or a world-wide flood or a Messiah riding to earth on a cumulus cloud or any number of other concoctions that neither the Bible nor nature actually support, you will stand with these contemporary Christians and their nonsense?

You brought to mind David Mamet's line:

'The Left says of the Right, “You fools, it is demonstrable that dinosaurs lived one hundred million years ago, I can prove it to you, how can you say the earth was created in 4000BCE?” But this supposed intransigence on the part of the Religious Right is far less detrimental to the health of the body politic than the Left’s love affair with Marxism, Socialism, Racialism, the Command Economy, all of which have been proven via one hundred years of evidence shows only shortages, despotism and murder.'

When read in its proper contexts and points of view that, for example, the entire world could be seen from a mountain top (Mt 4:8), the Bible begins to make sense. It is not the literature of 21st-century Westerners.

Fundamentalist Christians try to shape the biblical narrative to fit their worldviews (or they try to shape nature), much like leftwingers try to shape human nature to fit their utopian visions.

Leave it alone, for what it is, and the division goes away.

Not true. A functioning first world economy has overcome Malthusian economics. Capitalism failed before that could happen. You have to remember, truer Capitalism "died in 1929" and the socialism of command economics has been bailing out Capitalism ever since.

Ironically, you're coming into the religion forum to argue with and deride me and accuse me of doing exactly what you're doing here. Too funny.

This fails as an appeal to authority fallacy.

Visit the countless social media platforms that now exist and delve into topics where God is mentioned and you'll see innumerable numbers of atheists mocking believers. They are spiritually compelled to do so, they just don't know it.
Another lie.

Disagreeing with theists, pointing out their fallacies, sophistries, inconsistencies, hypocrisy, and lies is not to ‘mock’ theists.

My biggest complaint about this section is the spamming and flaming that occurs in some of the threads.
Again, disagreeing with theists, pointing out their fallacies, sophistries, inconsistencies, hypocrisy, and lies is neither ‘spamming’ nor ‘flaming.’

This is the Religion and Ethics sub-forum – where it’s perfectly appropriate to confront theists with what is far too often their lack of ethics; theists’ propensity for lying being a prime example.
